Free Trials?

I have several friends who want to try the game to see if they like it, and right now, save buying the game retail, there is no way for them to try it. At this point in their lifespan, all other MMOs I played had introduced one.

SE please introduce a 7-day/2-week trial so that people can try the game, even more awesome if we get referral awards on top of that!

I'm definitely for this. I've tried to get so many people to play this game but they don't want to pay for it and then not like it. Trial players will also bring a big pile of newbies into the game for those lower leveled fates and duty finder queues, I don't see any downsides to this at all.

Im for it (if i didnt have the chance to participate in beta, i would NOT have bought this game without free trial), but trial account must have some restrictions:
1. Content cap same as in beta 4 (maybe beta3)
Lots of anti-rmt:
2. No shouts and no yells
3. Unable to send friend requests to non-trial players
4. Unable to send tells unless as reply
5. Trade, mail, market board only among other trial players.
6. Separate party finder for trial players

PS4 beta phase 2 is coming soon...
If your friends have a PS4 they may try that, afaik it's an open beta (as long as you have a PS4).

So far that's the only option.

No thanks, I find the gold sellers seem to love free trials more than ones without. I know there are already gold spammers but imagine how bad it would get.

That's why you restrict what trial players can do. Example : They can't send whispers unless it's a reply, can't shout, can't join FCs or Linkshells, etc. Basically everything that Izumi said above

free trial would be great. i even know a couple people who would give it a shot if they had a free trial.
ffxiv doesnt have a very steep price tag as it is tho, and u do get that first free month.

I'm sure a free trial will soon be an optional service they will have that you can buy via the mostation.

They should do like in wow, with no limit in time but with severe restrictions :
- Can't level more than one fighting class
- Can't level this class above 20.
- Can't level a crafting class above 10.
- Can't send tells, shouts. Wisps are allowed only to friend list
- Can't trade, use the market, mail.
- Can't gather more than 500 Shards (to prevent RTM to use them to collect shard and pay only when they got full.)
- Can't use retainers

Should be enough to get an idea of the game and prevent malicious use of trials accounts.
(And that way, you can advertise the game saying it's free )
