You know the Reps read as many threads as possible, particularly popular ones and report them back to the Dev teams to give them insight on future content.
And one popular theme people talk about are battle mechanics, so I figure why not put together a thread with personal ideas from people and the ideas they would enjoy seeing in the future.
Myself - Float - I would love to see the spell make its way into the game and actually mean something. I had hoped that Jump would have some place in battle situations, such as avoiding ground target mechanics, but thats never happened. It's an environmental thing only. But still, having actual content, either future or past that would benefit from a Float spell would be nice.
Such as actual dungeons that the only way to actually traverse the ground safely is by using Float, or certain boss battles that you can lessen damage received if you're not touching the ground at specific points, making jump relevant to battle situations, float ensuring you're going to be clear through the spells duration.
And Reflect, from player side.
Now, Reflect is a double edged sword. You would think, Reflect should automatically go on a tank, ensuring they cannot receive magic damage at all from a foe. But that also means they couldn't receive restorative magic from physical damage/dots either. Unless you also have things such as Reflect-Null implemented as a JA/JT for healers for instance. It would also make people more reliant on potions, which I would hope if they ever implemented a mechanic that does make potions more prominent, that they would also overhaul the potion system and make it worthwhile.
'course, you could also see an actual Chemist job come into the future if that did happen, who specialized in creating/using potions/ethers/elixirs specific to their Job role, higher in potency than standard market sold potions, to give a new healer class a place to shine.
Your thoughts? Dreams? Fantasies? Also please hold all flaming comments for the next thread coming later, please look forward to it.
