Hi Onidemon,

If you're on these forums, asking for help, then perhaps some part of you is still genuinely interested in this game.

Maybe one place to start, is to ask yourself, what do *you* want out of "Final Fantasy XIV"? Is it the sense of leveling up like an RPG, to improve your character? Is it the social aspect? Finding a sociable Linkshell and people to chat with in a game setting? Is it a combination of both, so you have people to Level with and socialize with, as you progress every day?

Is it for the Story? The Adventure / Exploration? The World?

After you figure out what you really want out of this game, then you can see if FF XIV is really providing that for you.

For myself, while the game has improved from Day 1, last year, it's still a long ways off. But the various updates from Yoshida-san, and the impending patch 1.18 (with major content and some core changes), along with 1.19 after that, are things that keep me going.

I want to improve myself now, keeping an optimistic view for the promise of something great in the near future.

The Grand Companies of Eorzea with a Rank / Goal-driven System with special Items only gotten from them; Raid Dungeons with long-term goals; Final Fantasy Jobs; a New Combat System with a more Dynamic Layer (like Skillchains); Class / Job Uniqueness in Combat; Airships; a major Storyline with the Garlean Empire Invasion; Ishgard; Ifrit and the Archons; Interesting, Challenging Content / Quests; Major World / Map Revamp & Changes...

Being able to do all of the above with friends in a Final Fantasy World in the near future... that's what motivates me to keep playing right now.

Maybe it'll never get there; maybe it will. I'm holding out hope that it gets better soon.
