Lack of Big Fishing discussion in today's Live Letter

Is it just me, or did they just not even mention this in the slightest? I wasn't able to tune in this morning, but from the QA and what my shell is telling me, they just didn't even say a word about it.

Am I wrong? It's not exactly shocking, Yoshi's treatment of us fishers could never be called stellar (or even decent), but... c'mon. At least a throwaway sentence or two about the thing.

If I'm wrong, please fill me in. I can't find any info at all.

I haven't seen anything. I am guessing that "Big Fishing" is just them adding more 2-star fish that will be useless besides filling out your log. Or maybe 3-star fish that will be useless. Maybe add achievements that don't do us any good. I could be wrong, but I won't get my hopes up for SE giving us fisherman anything cool.

Yeah, after this I'm just not going to get my hopes up. They've ignored us for three years except when they're making things worse, so why start being nice to us now.

Just seeing the previews and the patch notes, it really doesn't seem like there's much to it. Gonna be a while if/when they decide to give some meaningful content like ferry fishing or a contest or something I guess.

Triple mooched with two or three interruptor fish (assassin bettas anyone), only catchable during the day time when it's raining.

I'm some what of an achievement whore, so if some new achievements are all we get, then that alone will suffice for me. I know a lot of people don't care about achievements, so for their sake I do hope there's more to it than that.

We actually used to have a proper offhand, in 1.0. Spearfishing. Back then it was just having a gig equipped and spearing some random critter (or dye) from some grass. Was a strange thing, but all the gathering classes back then had the proper gathering from mainhand, and a random obtainable from offhand thing.

I wouldn't mind an offhand again. I'm wondering if the new stools will be our offhands, to be honest. Gimme a golden one.
