    Yeah, a Coil Token would be amazing. Maybe you could get more each turn (t6 -1, t7 -2, etc) to weigh out the difficulty vs cost, that way people are encouraged to progress through Coil and are rewarded for doing so. RNG drops are fine, but it is nice to actually feel like you're working toward something besides progression. Everybody loves shiny new gear, after all.

    They could do something like WoW where a boss drops a token that you can trade in for a piece of gear. For example Turn 6 might drop an accessory plus 1 of 4 head tokens, them being SCH/WHM, WAR/PLD, BRD/DRG/MNK, and BLM/SMN. Each turn could drop 1 slot of token or 2. Dunno how it would work in FFXIV but just throwing the idea out there

    Good thing the forums represents such a small portion of the population.

    I disagree with most of you, I like the system the way it is poor RNG or not. It'll keep me playing the game and I hope it never changes. And no its not a troll, I just feel this is fair and I like it. RNG is RNG or favors no one and it equal to all if you get repeats gear or items then oh well try again next week or you know you can quit and go play something else.

    I agree with the fact that something needs to be done like this. I rarely post on the forums but this is something that has been bugging me for months.

    It has been driving me insane as a BLM going weeks and weeks, once 10+ weeks in a row without having a single caster item drop in my static(other statics, other things may not drop). While we've only been clearing turn 5 for 1-2 months we've clear turns 1-4 since a month or so after coil's release. I think one of our tank's was almost in complete allagan minus turn 5 drops within the first month, then our off tank, then others including me were getting tank pieces while we go months seeing 1 or 2 casting pieces.

    My secondary (which I rarely play) is drg, I have managed to get almost the complete set of allagan maiming pieces including the lance while only having 3 casting pieces drop to me until last week. Last week we saw the allagan chest of casting drop for the very first time ever. The week before that our monk got the gloves of striking which was the first we had seen it as well.

    Our tank is a great guy, but every time I see another tank piece, or a drg piece drop after the almost the 2nd/3rd/4th sets worth of gear has dropped and I was sitting on 3 pieces with nothing dropping week after week it gets very frustrating.

    The point of the gripe I guess is that with lockout RNG is often so bad even with 6 months+/- since it released we've never had some gear drop until the 1-2 weeks it becomes outdated with the new raid. If the new soldierly stone gear is only i100 and only new coil allagan gear is i110, due to RNG there is a good chance the unlucky ones in our static will never be able to gear out decently before the 2.4 with the next iteration of coil.

    In this game currently iLevel is king, and be unable to get there due to RNG even if you completing all endgame content every week but are your static never gets the drop til the next content patch is wrong.
    I have for the longest time thought endgame raid/dungeon gear should be best, but after doing this for 6+ months since last patch and with next patch around the corner, I am afraid of what may happen if this true (being stuck at i105 or such until 2.4 if drops are unlucky)

    tl:dr
    If tomes gear = i100 and new allagan gear = i110 something needs done with either tokens or dropped armor piece templates to help deal with how bad RNG can go in a lockout situation

    I sort of like this since you could work out with DKP or some sort of organization. You would need to put the BLM/SMN in with the BRD/DRG/MNK so you could fairly set the drop rate chance to 2/8 for tank 2/8 for healer 4/8 of dps.

    Tanks, healers, and casters already share gear, the way this is just would make non-caster share gear it wouldn't do anything to solve our statics oddball luck.

    Our dps sections is 2 casters, 1 brd, 1 mnk.
    If it was a fair selection of drops we should see 2x the amount of caster drops as brd/mnk/drg since smn/blm share gear.
    The reality is we seen less than 1/2 as many caster drops as brd or monk. Less than 1/4 compared to drg which has dropped the most.
    Law of big numbers to get RNG to give a reasonable even distrubiton, and with weekly lockouts that impossible.

    Honestly a lot of good ideas in this thread. It's actually hard to think of a loot system worse than current coil lockout+RNG+large loot pools thing that they do now. But if T6-T9 operate the same exact way and there is no equal level sol grindy coin gear to buy to make up for bad luck (Or, rather, terrible loot distribution system) then SE will have managed to actually make things crappier. While that's impressive in it's own way, I'm still hoping they weren't that dumb and did something to make things a bit more fair and just forgot to mention it...

    But uhh, new dance emotes. Woo.

    This is a great idea, Ive rolled on 8 pieces in the last 4 weeks and lost all, Ive got to the point where I dont think it will happen before the new gear is available.

    Gear drops for classes that are not actually in the party really need to stop, to me, that is incredibly frustrating.
