    Helmet RPing Macro?

I find myself liking to role play sometimes with my character's helmet (weird, I know.)

Is it possible to make it so whenever I'm in combat my helmet toggles on (or the visor toggles), and when I leave combat the helmet toggles off (or the visor toggles again)? I'm horrible with macros...

Sure it's actually really simple. Go to User Macro and use an empty slot. Put the title as Visor or something. Something to let you know that's your Visor macro. Then on the box below that simply put /visor

and bam. Done. Set it at your hot bar and just click it whenever. Easy way to get it going.

So that's the only way to do it? I'd have to press the button every time I go into combat? Well if there's no way to get it to automatically use when I go into combat then that'll work, thank you!

Actually, you can place any of the emotes on your bar without using a macro. So if that's what you're going to do, you might as well just use the emote as it is. Also for added hilarity or awesomeness, with your visor open /pray, and then as you kneel and raise your hand, /visor.

I bet Las Vegas hosts a convention each year with people like yourself, you could try to start up your chapter in your own city to find other like minded individuals.

I'm getting a pretty strong Sam Giddeon vibe from the OP.

You could always macro /visor on your most common opening move (for example, tossing your spear) so that your character closes the visor as you use that to start fight.

Just make yourself another button for when the fight(s) is(are) over when you want to take a breather and you'll be set.

To add to Hyouretsuzan's suggestion to cater more specifically to your original request, you can add /battlemode or /bm. This toggles your battle stance on/off so you can have a one step macro to close visor when entering battle stance and open visor when ending battle stance.

    ex:
    /battlemode
    /visor

If /visor had an on/off subcommand, you could potentially put "/visor on" in your opening attack macro and put "/visor off, /battlemode off" in another macro for after the battle ends, but I believe visor does not have a subcommand.

This is possible but like I noted, /visor is toggle only so this would only work if you used a separate macro only once in the beginning of battle. Otherwise, your character's visor would open/close during battle every time you use the move.

So if you use an opening only macro move, you can use
    /visor
    /(opening attack move)

    and end the battle with
    /battlemode (or /battlemode off)
    /visor
