Why I don't like the idea of paying for extra retainers.

So many people complaining about the said *advantage* of having extra retainers. When I check the characters on the lodestone the majority of them have relatively no crafting or gathering classes completed. So I have to wonder where is the *advantage* if you haven't bothered to even build those classes it isn't an area of the game you are even interested in. What is the point of sending out retainers to do these things if you don't have the skills to even use them.

Just because someone hasn't leveled them, it doesn't mean that they aren't interested on them; they might be busy doing other things. Also, you forget that some people have a lot of fun playing the market, and you don't really need to craft anything to do that.

Moreover, I'm pretty sure that retainers won't be getting just crafting stuff, specially the unique items. So, with more retainers, a better chance to get one of those and sell them for quite some money (see Treasure Maps). And that doesn't have anything to do with having such and such at level 50.

Now, on my book, getting more gil because you paid real money feels cheap and falls close to the same category as buying from RMTs.
