Why I don't like the idea of paying for extra retainers.

But it is not acceptable to pay real money in a P2P MMO for extra storage and in game items, that's P2W.

even if i do accept to pay real money for an extra storage (which i'm totally against it) it should be one time, not every 30 days.

I just wish that if you did the... standard? (8 char per server option) subscription you got 1 extra retainer (total of 3). Already paying $4 more for 1 char (what most of us who do the 8/server option have likely)

The word words 'play to win' are being use FAR too much in this thread, especially when we don't know the full extent of restrictions on ventures.

Also, for me, winning this game involves beating end-game content like t5, which I'm currently doing, with only 2 retainers :O and I dare say after 2.2 and my group starts going through 6-9 we'll be able to beat it... regardless of how many retainers we have :O

I'll even be able to clear the main scenario... with a mere two retainers!

So does someone wanna run by me how it's p2w? Bearing in mind you can't justify 'people with more retainers can get more mats etc' because again - you do not currently know what the restrictions are.
I highly doubt the ventures are going to work out better than if you just got up off your backside and got the mats yourself.

The moment that this game released housing it became much more than just dungeons and raids for many players including myself who enjoy all aspects that the game has to offer. Since you and many others commenting here are mostly combat based players think of it this way: this would be the equivalent of giving a player who pays $2/month extra a higher chance for better rolls on treasure chest loot.

It has been confirmed that some items will be VENTURE ITEMS ONLY so this would be less of an issue if that were not the case. No, this is not a game breaking p2w addition but the main point is what could be added next if we let this fly?

Even if the extra retainers were free, people who really want to increase their venturing ability can open up another account anyway.

Storage is not P2W... That's pay for convenience. Exp Boosters/ Stat Gear ( strong gear) etc that is P2W. Storage doesn't help you win anything (EX: Ifrit/Garuda) What is extra retainer going to do? Store Garuda? O.o.
