Not really in to it for the retainers, But I would like one of every race. and with a character who has almost every craft max I should be able to send my other characters crafted materia enhanced items to make say tanking easier especially if its a fresh tank and everyone else is 50 lvl synced from roulette. They pull so much Hate because the gear is still OP for someone just starting a tank class. The same for a fresh healer who gets a 50 tank thinking he's just gonna pull everything then wonders why he died and wasn't getting healed. all my characters, crafter included have 2 retainers and over half storage on both is free. I just don't need the space.

Maybe if you ask enough, they won't let you send mail to alts, but maybe pay more on the mogstation for a bag that is shared between the characters on one server, after the selling of retainers, to me it looks like any convenience feature when it comes to inventory will be sold for real money so we can pay for their hardware to make the game run.

I am pretty sure before the game went live they said they did this because "They wanted to promote only playing one character and also to help counter some RMT activity." Buuuut considering lock-outs and RMT are still rampant this really didn't do much good.

yes really, that was the original reasoning behind why they didn't allow cross mail if I remember the statment right, but that fell through gil sellers are like roaches where there's one there's a million. I see nothing wrong with the 2$ charge especially for basic accounts, But the players that do pay the extra already a month should be allowed to mail back and forth. I have been wanting the ability to mail back and forth since early access as have others.

Still want to know if this is in the works or not. I like multiple characters regardless if one can level everything or not, I like one for crafting one as a tank or melee one as a range one as a caster. the one good thing about wow til they made the account wide achievements. multiple characters mail back and forth and each one used to be unique based on mounts pets and achievements. So Dev's is this something we can look forward to or no?

I'm in favor of being able to mail things to my alts.

If I can only mail things to friends, then just make it so that whatever characters are on the same account will automatically be on each others' friend lists by default.

Also, with the potential for new playable race(s) on the horizon, people are going to want to create new characters to play them (NB4 Vial of Fantasia. Not everyone will want to change existing characters), and thus will want to be able to send mail between the characters on the account.
