Customisation is nice and all, but by the time you have a full set of coil2 gear (LOL) its not like its guna matter.

You don't need a full set to want customization. It is not just fun to experiment, it raises the value of the best gear in the game . There is also the situation: lel I haz Allagan 2 chest, too bad not enough Acc to use it yet. This is a common issue and won't solve itself for a while.

2 Sockets per piece would be so great. However, it is not the only option. They can make the Allagan be whatever way they think is balanced then allow us to swap one secondary stat at will for a reasonable cost. The cost can be the new tomes for all I care.

Since you can't get i110 gear unless you're in a large elitist FC (at least for a few weeks) or have very very good pugs (and are willing to go with strangers in coil, even if they're "good" strangers - I know I'm not except to fill holes in my static). i100 gear is not so bad its useless. Unlike what you think.

I mean yes, the higher ilv gear will have higher overall dps, by a small margin. But that margin risks being very very small if you compare i100 with i90 pentamelded. With the additional perk of having VIT on accessories (and not on the tome ones, unless a tank).

I prefer 8 VIT to 4 MND. I prefer 16 crit to 16 any other secondary stat. And I don't really care if my 15 MND i100 accessories would be a tiny tiny bit better than my 13 MND 13 VIT accessories i90.

This statement is absolutely not true. I started my group from scratch with no FC. All I did was do AK and any player I liked I would ask them if they were interested in forming a static. A week later I got my own group, FCless. One person I know, who is very famous on my server as he is godmode WHM did Coil using LS. He and his best friend created a LS and just added players from many FCs whom did not have a static to raid together, they clear T5 every week. Yes they are part of an FC atm, but they did start from nothing.

But that's the way the gear is designed, if you don't like it, wear something else.

No you learn to make do like everyone else, why is it missing or are you saying the person in charge of itemisation doesn't have a clue ... of course that's a different problem :P

The thing is also, we have no idea what stats any of the new crafted or GF gear will have so its too early to speculate on this stuff.

They do make calculation mistakes. They did it once with BLM/SMN Allagan boots in 2.1. They did claim mistake after the outcry but IMHO I think the guy who planed the stats is doing it based on an opinion that might be different to what currently is known among the min maxers community. For example SS, excellent for BLM but it is the worst stat possible if the BLM have high ping.

SMN and BLM going to share the exact same BiS in 2.2, what do you think the SMN community going to think about the guy who planned the stats if SS is the dominant secondary stat?

This is why we need some sort of customization. Everyone win .
