You should probly lay off the moko anyway. however, i do agree about the starting location. you should be able to walk onto the boat when you board and you should be under the deck once the boat ride loads.I seem to recall some kooky visions about a past life where I actually started off my boat rides on board below deck, and something about merchants willing to make a gil or two...and the seas were more dangerous if you were a fledgling adventurer. Maybe I should lay off the moko grass again.
i feel bad for yoshi-p i know if i had to come clean up tatanka's mess i'd do it but you best believe i would want a sign on bonus.
I do miss the days of running onto the deck and into a Sea Horror.
And pirates.
I miss the pirate attacks.
oops beaten to it![]()
This all came to mind just the other day when I was walking to Limsa after some leves at Horizon. I like to save anima when I can, so I will walk a little more often.
And all this started coming to mind. There's also a severe lack of scenery! I remember when going to Al Zahbi, the one part of the trip I remembered were the two rocks that had all those seagulls on them. I heard stories about people seeing whales (Bismarck?) too, but that I never got to see. Then the trip by sea to Nashmau had it's own sights off in the distance.
What we have here in FFXIV just feels so emptyI can only imagine it being fixed for any future implemented boat trips.
BOat ride now is a joke. BAM!

Whaddya mean who takes the ferry nowadays!? I still do, and while we're at it why in the world does it dump you out on the top deck in the middle of a thunderstorm for the Twelve's sake!?
Don't we go in through some cargo door when we board? There's this nice little passenger room and it seems all neglected because we go straight up to the top and everything you can do you can do up there! In exchange, I get to be an already wet cat at the start instead. The only exception being I heard of some people waking up for the first time in their life in that room.

Just a little light humor for a change. But there is a point, why isn't there more to the boat rides besides the still moving graphics we know about?
Hahaha totally agree with you, Bayohne do something about this!

I do miss the dangers of riding the boat in XI. In comparison the boat ride seems rather dull aside from the occasional thunderstorm that occurs in the area. It doesn't have to be just monsters that occupy passengers, we could have a card table or something where people could play a competitive minigame on the lower deck. Maybe play for gil? Pirates like to gamble right?!
YES! Finally someone brought this up. I was going to post a thread on this but forgot when I went on vacation.
This was something I enjoyed immensely when taking the ferry in FFXI. Either random pirate attacks or someone fishing up a huge beastie. Make it something that drops some good loot and you'll have a reason to take the ferry over and over. Also, they could make it so that different weather effects (fog, lightning, etc) indicate when the mobs are going to spawn.
"I know not what brings men joy. Of what drives them to great deeds, of what legacies they hope to leave, I know less yet. But I do know this: The true hero of this tale was the man forgotten."
