Looking for lvl 50 content

I'm a very casual player with no interest whatsoever in replaying instances and fights more than a few times, so I'm looking for content I can do without the need to grind to raise my ilvl.

(Not only do I get extremely bored of instances after a few runs, but I also suffer from very bad lag, so playing them is usually very stressful by default.)

So far these are the things I plan on doing in XIV after the 2.2 update:

- Playing the main storyline until I hit some sort of ilvl wall (I am currently on Ifrit HM)
- Playing side story quests (yay Hildibrand!)

And depending on what content there is I'd probably like to eventually get all my crafts and jobs to 50, both for the story and to have more options to get content done.

So my question is:

What other content can I enjoy in XIV without having to grind ilvl gear?

Signs up to play Japanese MMO, doesnt want to repeat content. Did you have any idea what you were getting yourself into?

They have already stated that they are continuing the main storyline with the next patch, repeatable content is important for mechanics of battles and team efforts.

Some of the better gear is found by repeating content, but as others have said, it is a trend within this game atm, maybe in time there will be more to do that is not, but for now...

Gardening is also repeatable content.
You sow the seeds, you water the seeds, you watch it grown, you harvest it, you sow the seeds, ...

So my question is:

What other content can I enjoy in XIV without having to grind ilvl gear?

In 2.1 mostly everything except coil and extreme mode primals.
What 2.2 bring we see next week.

Dailies, main scenario, side quests, seasonal events, the lvl 50 dungeons (though if you do them after 2.2 they will drop Darklight which will let you do more stuff), crafting, gathering. Can also do the duty roulette if you don't mind playing a random dungeon occasionally. This will get you more tomes for better gear too.

Once the Gold Saucer & personal housing are in you'll have mini-games (gardening & possibly chocobo breeding/racing + some kind of "Table game").

It seems long-term there will be many other activities to participate in. There will always be some element of repetition (that's the nature of MMOs), but if you play casually you should find a variety of things to do.
