Multiple Relic Weapons and upgrading

I really want to know how it will be handled with having a LONG quest line that will be multiple live updates long on multiple relics. I figure I cant be the only person who would like to have more than one class going on relic upgrades, lots of people have 2, 3 or more relic zeniths at this point.

While it made sense with the first relic quest to only have one going at a time, this time around not so much. I would hate to think we can only do it for one relic at a time.

Edit - For people who dont know or realize, they have said this new upgrade system will not be something done in just update, but continue on through multiple ones....maybe even past 2.3. So its not like the first relic where you get it and finish it and its done.

The question is, will it be separate quests for each job? Will it have multiple quests and each update will have different quests you can do for each job? Or will you be stuck picking only one and doing it for months and months when the updates come out?

I doubt you'll be able to do more than one relic at a time. Making the quest long and only available to one relic ensures that people will stay busy until the next update. Plus they probably agree that you can complete most of the new content w/o a fully upgraded relic.

Since they have said it will take 2.2, 2.2.5 and into 2.3 and maybe beyond, it would keep you busy on one relic for a lot longer than the next update though.

Why not? I assume the dev team has already finished, double and triple checked this all out considering it goes live next week. If they dont have an answer for it then there is some major problems somewhere....

More than likely you will upgrade your Relic into Zodiac in stages.

The first being maybe 900 Myth Tomes, +item drops from Ex Leviathan, and Ex Thornmarch

A11: You will be able to upgrade your relic through the “Saga of the Zodiac Weapons.” While the whole process will be very long, the appearance of your weapon will change if you upgrade your relic weapons up to a certain point.

^^Answering your "In Stages" like being able to upgrade all your Relics into Zodiac Stage one, if you will <-- My Thoughts.

Q19: With item level 90 equipment, just how far can you go from a content perspective?

A19: I believe you’ll be able to clear Leviathan extreme and Good King Moggle Mog extreme with all item level 90 equipment. You’ll want to get the equipment that drops from these battles for...well, I shouldn’t say any more right now!

^^ and with this leads me to believe you will need your Wpn from both Leviathan and the Good King to complete the Zodiac Wpn Quest.

Will never happen in a FF MMO and I'm glad for it. I love having a single character... (I do hope we only get 1-2 master recipe books for crafters, though).

I also don't think we can only work on one at a time. Maybe one stage of one weapon at a time. The way I understood it, the Zodiak weapons will not upgrade through a single long quest (like A Relic Reborn (Job)), but a "saga" of quests, each one increasing it a tiny bit, even leading to some stat variety later. Since (still just assuming) each little progression will be a quest, you'd be free to work on other quests for other weapons.
