What a ridiculous request.
What a ridiculous request.
This is here because overhealing is lazy and the most ineffective way to play a healer. Stop healing the tank every time they fall below 95% HP and learn how to play your role in the most efficient manner. If you don't like standing there and you overheal to "look useful", then feel free to DPS instead of giving the illusion of being useful. The game penalizes you for playing your role wrong, and that is the way it should be.
This is hilarious, but makes my heart sad.

Well, I'm sorry but had to comment about this, but it's not so easy to remove states by yourself... At least not with a gamepad. Of course I'm a noob that should not comment these kind of things, but... So far only way I know for deleting the states has to be with the mouse, right click, that maybe is easy for a keyboard+ mouse tank... But for tanks like me who use gamepad... Nope, not possible, So far our only way would be... Uhm... Press select many times until the cursor focus in our states and then press unknown button?... Still, it's not so easy.
Saying that... Does someone know of any macro or something for solve that with a nooby-tank that uses gamepad? I'd appreciate it ^^

Activate cursor mode and do it that way. Still a hassle. I think its l1 + r3? or r1 + l3... never really use it, so forget

Yes.
lol. I don't think you play with a controller. My right hand is usually occupied changing camera angles, targeting new mobs, poping pre-emptive CDs, etc.
Healers - just don't regen pre-pull on anything. Its frickin' instant cast, there is no reason ever to need THAT MUCH healing in the first 2.4 seconds of the fight that you would ever NEED to have regen on. It will happen that a regen is left over from a previous battle, and that's fine - but you can also learn to not regen in the last 6 seconds of a fight.
As per the mechanics of over-healing - its penalized because then healing would be so derp-easy that you could face-roll everything in the game up to and beyond the Relic quest. "Oh you run out of mana anyways!" No you don't. Maybe in Twintanita, Caduceus, X modes, but in any 4 man dungeon you would never run out of mana doing normal trash pulls or most bosses. Also someone mentioned that healing only does 50% enmity of hp healed. Yes, unless its an overheal.
I'm using a gamepad and I never had problem with turning the buff off. I think you only need to hit Select three times without any windows up to get there anyway. If you have problem, ask your healer to time it so you don't have to wait out the regen effects. I know when I heal I usually don't put Regen on tanks when the encounter almost ends.
Sorry to disappoint you but I do. Targetting new mobs is by the D-pad. Popping CD is by the shoulder buttons and just 1 finger anyway.
Inb4 I use special gamepad, nope Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2.
OK - my bad, but you still need to hit "X" to land solid target and not just mouse-over on a new mob. You need to hit select 5 times, I believe, to get there (on PS3, at least). And then its Select, Select, Select, Select, Select, D-pad right (Protect), D-pad right (stone-skin), D-pad right (Shield Oath), D-pad right (Regen), X, O. 9-12 button presses to remove a buff? Unless its fresh is probably just better to wait it out lol.
Wait the OP is serious? really? okay
From both a tank and a healers pov, I can not support this idea. As a healer it would trivialize the role to becoming how fast can I cycle my healing. As a tank anything that makes your job a lazy one is bad as it reduces you watching what you are doing.
The Regen thing can by a royal pain if the tank is on a controller as I understand they have problems swiftly navigating the ui, and other players in roulettes and DF are always in a hurry and tend to get mouthy if you are not pulling fast enough. but it is manageable on both sides of the equation if the healer is alert and or the tank see that the healer is relying on regen heavily.
You're new to gaming I see. Keep at it you'll get better eventually.
