Final Fantasy XIV and it's discouragement of alts should really be looked at.

Hello, I'm a person who likes to have at least one alt in whatever MMO I play. I've been trying that here, as well, but every week I'm sidelined by the game systems.

In most MMOs, classes are done per character but here the Final Fantasy XI system where you are encouraged to accumulate classes on one character is used. This was a very neat system, the problem is it mixes like water and oil with the raid lockout and point systems adapted from World of Warcraft and other modern MMOs.

People need to gear up their main job as a priority and with the restrictions in place alts are simply left behind. Right now, raid tiers are only four bosses with one difficulty level and you can't run it a second time on an alt so basically once you're done you're done

Our free company members log in once a week right now and during a slow week it's difficult to even adjust if a key archetype cannot be there as only a few people have gotten lucky enough with drops to be able to bring something else
