Crafting gear is ilvl90

Their Q & A thread says they're only getting a new main hand and head piece. Nothing else. If that's true, a fully overmelded i55 crafter today is probably ready to craft the new higher gear.

And me personally I'm glad to hear that... For those who fully melded every single piece of crafter gear, would suck that all that money went to nothing. This gives us a chance to gather some more gil and stuff with that said gear making the new items, so that we can better prepare ourselves for when we have to replace the whole outfits. This I assume will eventually come once we have the level cap raised, as there will be more storylines to our crafts, and more higher level options to obtain gear to choose from in those 5 level storyline quests. ie 55, 60, 65, and so on.

The new craftable gear is i90 but it's also green. So it's not as good as the equip you get in Coil or for tomes.
But you have materia-slots.

HQ i70 green crafted is equivalent in stats to i70 blue darklight so I expect the same to be true of HQ i90 crafted versus i90 blue meaning it could potentially be better with the materia slots depending on class. Especially the jewelry for buffing hp pools on dps/heals for early Coil 6-9 pushes.

The new craftable gear is i90 but it's also green.

Colors are presently meaningless. There is no difference in stats between green, blue, and purple items. Presently, there are no blue or purple items which are not innately HQ, but only those green items which can be crafted are not innately HQ as well. HQ crafted ilvl70 items are identical in stats to Darklight.

i70 crafted accessories have been amazing.

For tanks, i70 Gryphonskin jewelry (and Rose Gold Ear Screws) are best in slot for most content.

I hope i90 is just as good.
