A basement level has been added to small houses.

The maximum number of furnishings for a small house has been increased from 50 to 100.

I knew that basements were coming but was worried that I was already at 50/50 items using a single floor. Happy days.

Improvements made to the frequency with which player positioning is updated in patch 2.1 will now apply to all instances.

Gawd, I can finally do AV again, maybe. My connection's good, I have no troubles dodging in Titan HM/XM, but Coinjerk in AV is just constant nonsense for me.

I read it more as a upgraded system. Improve certain skills of a specific class or even add skills with materia like the ff7 system or something familiar with FFXI where you could improve certain skills individually...

All big patches have had a period of 24+ hours maintenance reserved so far, this isn't an exception.
In practice though, they will turn the servers back online sooner if they need less time to implement it.
