If demand were high enough.

While publishers such as Sony and Ubisoft are actively enforcing high-definition updates, Square Enix has barley stepped foot in the territory. Asked at E3 if the company would ever release a high-definition Final Fantasy collection, akin The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection or Splinter Cell Trilogy, series producer Yoshinori Kitase said the company would “seriously consider it” if the demand were high enough.

“We haven’t made up our mind about that yet,” said Kitase, speaking with Xbox 360 Achievements, “but if there was a strong voice coming through from the users asking for such porting, then obviously we would seriously consider it, but no actual plans yet.”

The series’ latest outing, Final Fantasy XIII-2, launches early next year.

Seriously, Square? No demand? Even freaking IGN that's usually against RPGs pointed as one of the most anticipated HD Collections!

Basically what we need is a petition of words to convince SE that their "older" games are better than the current GEN being offered.

Discuss your thoughts on this matter, and [Like!] to express your favor for HD remakes.

No kidding, from what I've heard for years now awaiting XIV across dozens of gaming sites, damn near the entire FFXI community would have loved to have just had an HD ver of XI, instead of XIV. I personally wanted that more than anything. And while I know XIV is "slowly" getting better, its still just missing so much, and everything I read from Yoshi, it sounds like in the end XIV is being rebuilt from the ground up...why not just scrap it now and remake XI with the Crystal Tools engine. Its so much better than XIV will ever be...

And yes their older titles are so much better than the new ones. Besides IX & XI, I feel that VIII was the beginning of their downfall...especially X.

when talking about an HD collection, are we talking about full 3D games with enhanced graphics, or the old styled 2D style with newer sprites and fresh colours?
i'm wondering, as there are allready older FF titels that have rereleased as either 3D titels or 2D with enhanced sprites and colours.
or are we talking about FFXIII graphics in old school FF's here?
i'm not that much into graphics, i love the old FF games for what they are, not for their graphics, but putting a FFXIII like graphic on all the old titels would be alooooot of work to do.

The key point was 720p/1080p resolution display. But for 3D/Real 3D, and/or enhanced sprites (2D/2.5D) I think all of the above would be best appropriate per game in question.

I've never played FFVI, and I want to but I'm waiting for a remake which I'm strongly hoping for a 2D enhanced version rather than 3D, but to have that same game playable in HD on my PS3/Vita would be better than any form of enhanced graphics.

Then there's FFVII that always grabs attention in this area. People discovered that the first HD video of FFVII, was partially(?) placed in crisis core. Completely shattering any hope fans held for the remake. This demand has been quite strong for years.

I'll sign any petition, appear in any rally, write letters, get naked , whatever to see the days of good Final Fantasies (III-XI) return.

This tap of gaming sewage that's spilling out needs to be blocked if SE wants to stay in business.

You more likely to get people telling them everything sucks on this forum than getting the positive response your looking for. I wouldn't mind a HD remake of VI but...

D: It'll never happen. FF1-9 remakes. I would love to play them with updates graphics. But if their story and gameplay has to suffer for better graphics, than hell no.
