Agrius' Wreckage / Grave of Midgardsormr

For those who are not aware of the lore, the Agrius was the Garlean's flagship vessel when the initially attempted to invade Eorzea, along with a fleet of numerous other airships which were locked in combat with a swarm of Dragons that filled the sky. The eventual culmination of the battle ended when an enormous god-like Dragon known as Midgardsormr came down from the sky and destroyed the Agrius, killing himself in the process.

This all takes place 10 years before the events of 1.X and 15 years before current events, though the wreckage of the airship as well as the corpse of the great wyrm still remain at the center of Silvertears Lake (now known as Mor Dhona). Speculation based on the original trailer is that this battle was also the cause of the Primals coming into existence (or being released) as well as the aether imbalance in Eorzea, so with this in mind what kind of strange creatures might still be lurking in the wreckage of the old ship, or in the depths below where the Primals may have been released from?

It all seems like there is just too much here for them not to do something with and I would love to see a dungeon come from this area one day. For whatever reason my mind immediately goes to Anima from FFX lurking as the boss(s) of the dungeon, first needed to climb to the top of the wreckage where you find its upper half then you need to dive to the bottom where you fight its lower half.

    The Battle of Silvertear Skies

I'd rather have it related to an expansion, added to the story of Ishgard or continuing from it. Since Dragons were called from Dravania to aid Midgardsormr who was a "Great Dragon". Hydaelyn, the mother crystal story expanded along with the Ascians as the area was a massive source of aether with the primals formerly captive there. It opens a current story while investigating into the deeper past history of Eorzea. Also more meaning to the deities that exist in Eorzea.

Something along those lines, my opinion though.

in the final cutscene from 1.0 (not 1.23 etc but the original 1.0) The weapons on the ship were still operational. Makes me wonder how it's fared with the fall of Dalamud

Nel, if you're referring to the scene in Future's Perfect where Gaius orders a cannon blast to (attempt to ) take out the Circle, the cannon shot comes not from the wreck of the Agrius, but another (smaller) Garlean airship that was hovering overhead (in most of the videos I've seen of it though it's mostly obscured by cloud so it indeed makes it seem it comes from the Agrius).

As for having the Keeper of the Lake as a new dungeon/raid, that would be very interesting, but I can't see what story/lore reason there could be to investigating the wreck - maybe something releated to the reasons behind the initial invasion or something.

Well, if Silvertear Lake was the seal on aether and the source of the leak, wouldn't it make sense to investigate it when we finally get around to looking for a permanent fix?

Pretty sure it comes from the Agrius

Given that the Silvertear Falls are the source of the world's aether, I can imagine any instance revolving around the Keeper of the Lake to house some EXTREMELY powerful enemies (since they have almost limitless aether to feed upon). Would probably better be suited for a large-scale raid.

As for warranting investigation, it was the death of Midgardsormr that released the aether seal and allowed the primals to run free. Theoretically, that would be the answer to stopping the primal threat permanently. We, as adventurers, would have to find a way to re-establish this seal and stabilize the world's aether. Then the primal threat would finally be over.

It's an interesting prospect, and may be something achieved far, far in the future of the game.

While I could see it going either way, raid or dungeon, I think dungeon (or series of dungeons) would be more likely. So far all the raids have been enormous things that needed to be broken up into segments in order to do them justice. Just the front gates of the Crystal Tower alone was a raid, I don't know how the Agrius scales compared to that, doesn't seem like it would be big enough to really be made into a full scale raid when you consider that even the city of amdapdor was too small to be consider "raid worthy." I could honestly see it more likely being split into two dungeons, similar to how you complete Castrum and then go into Praetorium, or how we have Amdapor Keep and soon to have the City of Amdapor.

In either case the idea of fighting our way through the old machinery of the Agrius in parts and then making our way across the bones of Midgardsormr in other parts seems like it would be pretty interesting and the whole storyline behind it seems like it's just waiting for something to come of it. The idea I had was that when the seal on the Primals was broken some Elder Primal (Anima) remained behind to lurk within the wreckage of the Agrius until someone dared enter its domain.

No, Silvertear Lake is the lake IN Mor Dhona, Gaius' narrative in the CS you get when you unlock Airship Travel is perfectly clear.
