    Most useful dps

What dps do you enjoy getting into parties with? In your opinion wich class is the best? Player skill aside. Example can be best in coil, ex primals, dungeons.

Oh you will get varied opinions here. It is very much situational. If i am going in a dungeon as Bard, have always prefered having a Dragoon around for some reason. When i go as blm i really have no real preference.
For coil, dunno as i have not yet even tried it.
I am sure some can give you a better idea

In term of usefulness universally, Bard. The only thing that sets them apart is the songs they bring: Mage's Ballad for healer MP, Foe Requiem to boost magic DPS's damage and Army's Paeon to recover TP. I don't really care which dps I got since I play tank/dps but healers would love a bard just in case I guess for their songs and LB3 if healers go down.

Most likely cause DRG boost BRD damage with Disembowel.

Bard. Bard is always wanted. Always. There are fights where every DD takes their turn at being unwanted... except Bard.

SMNs lack burst, BLMs perform poorly when they have to move a lot, and melee aren't welcome by many parties in several fights.

There's no such thing as a Bard unfriendly fight. Bard will consistently perform well and put out good DPS in every fight in the game. Also, it gives one a kind utility in the form of their songs, and Bard has the most reliable silence in the game.

I say this as someone who plays all DD classes in Coil/EX content.

Different jobs are more optimized for current content, so the answer to this question depends on what fight we're doing.

That being said, SMN is consistently one of the strongest classes in dungeons and in raids, and it usually shows when it's replaced by a BLM (content depending of course).

BRD is good for song support.
BLM just beat the crap out of a group of mob lol
SMN is best against 1 - 3,4 target.
MNK is best at beat the crap out of boss.
    DRG is good around

I'm a SMN myself and if I'm running Haukke Manor HM, I enjoy having BLM with me, cause he can basically take care of the adds alone ( I command garuda to hit them too) on the first boss, so I can concentrate on the boss itself. And BLM's aoe is neat on big pulls too (if I happen to be speedrunning it with premade group) But if I was to go somewhere on my BRD, I'd want a DRG with me, 'cause of the disembowel. It's pretty situational really.

People need to remember that a healer's job isn't to heal HP
but rather to prevent HP from reaching 0

I like the hectic playstyle of DRG/MNK, but BLM is hilarious coz you can stay at a safe distance and just put shit on blast. I have bard at 50 as well, but It doesn't seem as much fun as other stuff that hits harder. Also, you have to focus on stuff other than pure DPS. Screw added responsibility, I just wanna hit shit.

You immediately contradict your thread title when you go from "most useful" to "most joyful to play", then again switching to "best" (what does this mean?); I really don't know what you're looking for here, so I'll give my opinion on several "bests".

Most useful: Probably bard, healers like the security of having a bard around; but I believe in balance, the faster shit dies (with a higher dps class) the less heals/tp you need /shrug. I say "useful" based on general community opinion
Most fun: I think melee is the most rewarding, and therein fun, because you simply have to deal with crazier mechanical issues (dodging, flank & rear attacks), BUT BLM can be so bursty with procs, I can't help but laugh when I play it. This is a tie =p
Best: This one is pretty black and white, MNK/SMN do the most damage, and in that respect are the "best" DPS (best deliverers of damage-per-second)

Being a SMN myself, I really really miss my battle revive as DPS when doing some annoying fights where people are usually inexperienced (Hydra/Chimera/Titan HM) when I'm on other classes. I know I can assist my raid with Super Virus / Eye for an Eye.

That said, Bards surely are useful like... always. Should have been 2 Tanks, 2 Healers, 1 Bard, 3 DPS in duty finder =_=. But they aren't a must in known 4 dungeon content.
As for Monk/DRG, I can see a dragoon useful for the disembowel debuff and Monks usually can avoid most of the stuff as they should be moving all the time + their defensive buffs = that makes them extremely durable and healer friendly(and thus useful for the whole raid).

As for BLM, they are just there for their big spike damage which makes fights faster but that's about it. I can see them demanding a Bard for Foe's Requiem.
