Relic to Zenith to Zodiak, no Philo

So I understand that in 2.2, Philosophy tomes will be removed from the game, like the interview says:

Tomes

No more Philosophy after 2.2
Myth will take Philosophy's place
There will be an NPC around to trade Phil for Myth.

What I don't understand is how the Philosophy Items and the Radz-at-Han Quenching Oil will be handled without Philosophy. My assumption is that Radz-at-Han Quenching Oil and items will be either moved up to Myth or dropped like DL will be from dungeons. Can anyone guess what will happen?

Also, Thavnairian Mist, will that get moved up as well?

Probably both using myth, Radz-at-Han Quenching Oil might cost lesser.

They're adding new unspoiled gathering nodes in 2.2, it's likely that the philo materials will come from those.

No idea about the Quenching Oil though, might just be moved to the Myth vendor.

I guess Quenching Oil will drop from Hydra, and Mist will drop from....I dunno, Siren? But most likely the oil will be bought with Myth and the Mist will be bought with the new tomes.

All the Philo items are being added to dungeons being added to the Duty Finder in 2.2.

Was said in the interview.

I feel like items that correspond to Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy will basically be a waste after this patch. How are you dealing with that?

Yoshida: After the patch, you won't obtain Philosophy anywhere - it will be replaced with Mythology. There will be a NPC available which allows you to exchange currency at a predetermined rate.

What will happen to Darklight equipment which you were able to obtain for Philosophy?

Yoshida: It will be changed to a normal dungeon drop. It will drop in the dungeons which are added to the high level roulette. Instanced dungeons will have equipment at level 70, Crystal Tower will be level 80, and Turns 1-5 of Bahamut Coil as well as mythology gear will be level 90. The increase in item level should lead to growth on the main job. When we raise the level cap with an expansion and add additional dungeons and field area, that will lead to overall character growth.


AS said as well, there are new unspoiled Nodes as well as a new Quarrying spot in Nophica's Well, that can be where the oil is harvested. Or it could be in the Master Recipe Book for Alchemist or Culinarian.

They need a replacement for sure, also for the ilvel 70 crafting ingredients you could buy for Philo tomes in Mor Dhona. We can only wait for the long blog entry about 2.2 I guess. At the moment I have more questions than answers lol.

It's not hard to understand really, you'll have 2k Mythology and it'll be unlimited and you'll buy the Phylo items with Mythos. Easy
