I wouldn't be so confident that actual poll data was taken specifically from people who liked WoW because it was difficult for Yoshida to make that statement.
As i see it Yoshi is supporting the f2p model just because this will be the way this game will be published in china, but Yoshi seems more open to keep the p2p model with a vanity shop like wow does.
For me these are the most interesting points of the interview;
Increasing the item level is just one direction, though, we also need to increase the breadth of items available at each levelWe've actually been working on the design for 3.0 for a long time now. We've already come up with dungeon names and the number of dungeons, as well as the theme and the name of the new top tier dungeon which will be like the next rendition of the Binding Coil of Bahamut. We've also come up with the look of the city area, as well as the number and theme of the field areas to be added.we haven't yet finalized the content for patch 2.3 because 2.3 is still in development and we want to have some level of improvisation available to us so that we can add things based on requests. Finally we are starting to get some information regarding the future of the game.We aren't making a fully next generation MMORPG with A Realm Reborn. We want our users to get used to the MMORPGs at the end of this generation first....We may start adding next generation elements as we continue to expand the game. Of course, we are also planning challenges that WoW isn't doing
I will unsub super fast if this game goes F2P. I am more than happy for them to put in a cash shop and fill it with NON P2W items and I will be a valued customer for sure. I will not however pay a monthly sub and then get gouged by a cash shop selling high priced and P2W items. Quite a few game companies are putting in place the monthly sub and having a cash shop and still calling themselves F2P games. I'm first in the shop to buy *shinies and pretties* I stop short at buying cash shop items to actually play the game.
If they charge for MORE bag space or bank space in the cash shop I will buy. If they charge so we can have more retainers I will buy. If they make super cute outfits to skin the ugly armour in the game I will buy.
highlighted underlined part is 100% false lol game loyalty has to do with enjoying the game not if its ftp, sub based, cash shop or no shop. And I'm one of them. The fact remains that, as far as difficulty goes, this game isn't exactly at the top. Meanwhile every player that's absolutely clambering for the game to shift to the F2P model are also the types of players who will up and leave at the slightest hint of "the next shiny mmo."
EDIT: Despite everyone jumping down my throat, to not be concerned about his "F2P is pretty cool" talk is idiotic.
you could not be more wrong. if this game went ftp (which wouldnt bother me either way) i would play for many years , equal to if it stays sub.
please dont judge anyones loyalty to any game by your own personal opinion.
some would leave, many would stay and many more would try it out, again, some remaining an leaving ,a constant flow just like every other sub based
and ftp game in existance
that is fact. personally i play 2 ftp games that have converted to ftp for years now, as well as still sub to ff11, and wow..my loyalty is based on my "fun" NEVER the ftp/sub arguement lol
se will do whatever brings in the most cash...period. the fact that he is open to the possibility is financially smart, its ALL about money or have people forgot that?
if it stays sub forever then thats a-ok by me, if it ends up ftp then thats a-ok by me too, it is simply a game afterall.
i respect others opinions if they couldnt stomach ftp for whatever reason...but that in a way proves that their loyalty is pretty low comapred to others...hmmm
Where getting these in 2.2, wonder if the tome bought items will be in here?

WoW vanilla where bosses had 3 spells, where 4 guys out of the 40 in the raid had to react while the others could /afk dps ?
Yeah, but no. Difficulty is well tuned here. Just need more complex bosses for those who really want some but for an initial content, I think SE did a pretty damn good job.
I play this game because its not free to play and it has no cash shop if that's changing I am gone.
As opposed to predictive patterns and dodge circles we have now?
We obviously played a different version of Vanilla WoW, or you haven't played it at all.
You probably never did any PVE content in vanilla to post a silly comment like that. Sure bosses weren't as flashy as they are now (we re talking about a 2004 game here) but the challenges were totally different from what we have now.WoW vanilla where bosses had 3 spells, where 4 guys out of the 40 in the raid had to react while the others could /afk dps ?
