Why I've not been playing as a Paladin lately...

So, since getting to 50, I've almost regretted levelling the Paladin job.

As a new tank, I am extremely intimidated by other, more geared level 50s. It mainly has to do with the Main Scenario dungeons. Because I don't know the fights or am not confident enough to do speed runs, people mock me and treat me with exasperation.

"Really? How do you not know this? I don't have time for this. Are you really going slow?"

Yes, I am. If you want to go fast, go level a tank yourself. >_<

This has nothing to do with tanking perse. Just take your time or invite friends. Getting gear will come in a short time. Just keep practising and if people complain. Leave! You que fast enough anyways

just remember as a tank u have advantage over other class (faster queue time). if they dont like the pace you tanking mob, let them leave. DPS have to wait 30+ min usually to get in dungeon thru DF. tank only have to wait 5 +- min. plus it tank less than 5 min to replace DPS.

If people are joining Duty Finder (or especially roulette) expecting to do speed runs, then they're missing the entire point of Duty Finder/roulette.
Just vote kick them if they are rude and move on.

If they want to speedrun something, then they don't even have to level a tank job...
All they have to do is create a Party Finder group for that explicit purpose.

If I join DF on my tank I wont do a speed run. I have had ppl leave because of it. Dont let others get to you and try to boss you around. Let them leave and take the hit on the lock out then sit and wait longer to get another pt.

If I'm tanking Cm, or mog, or something and there's a new tank and an uppity DPS talks smack? Well, I talk smack back. Of course, I only defend the other tank if hes trying. If the other tank is some entitled *expletive,* I'm not going to take his side.


Just don't act like you don't have any responsibility to the group you're joining.

Also remember, this type of thing is on a case to case basis. There can be no blanketing or generalizing statements.

I can completely sympathize with you unfortunately. I bought my I70 Body/Legs/Weapon on the MB and my Waist/Ring/Earring/Wrist I70's with tomes made from running low level roulette. I've almost got enough Myth tomes to buy my I90 ring from low level roulette and fishing up Boarskin maps and completing them. Mind you the amount of jerks I have ran into at the higher levels could be a statistical anomaly but it was more then enough to hinder my desires to continue trying endgame content.
