They've gone on record to state they're pleased with the difficulty curve & item-rewards for Labyrinth of the Ancients.

They intend to keep CT just beneath BC in terms of difficulty and itemization.

Like Taruranto pointed out, I'm asking for 24-man content of equal value in terms of difficulty and ilvl as BC 8-man.

I really wish they'd release an optional "challenge mode" of CT1 with the same tuning and mechanics they were using at launch (and with support for 24 man premades), before they made the decision to delay it for retuning and nerfing. I'd run it even if it didn't drop any progression loot simply because I'd love some challenging stuff to do with all three of my FC's raid groups. Perhaps it could grant vanity stuff instead of gear upgrades.

I would much rather be challenged in 8-man content. Easier to make groups and communicate.
20+ becomes hell and half the raid ends up getting carried anyways.

    You want difficult?

Poke yourself in the eye, while wearing parachute pants with fire ants crawling on your "Sensitive" areas. While you have one hand tied to your leg. As a added challenge we will bring 5 yr old twins with only 1 Kindle Fire to share with netflix on as they fight over what show to watch.

    Do you accept the challenge?

Having a FC will still never make up for AFKs, people not showing up, idiot players, idiot leaders ect.
The more people in a FC the more idiots = the harder it is to make a stable group.
Have you ever tried running your own 24man group in an other MMO? It's a pain in the ASS
I will take my 8-man content any day of the week kthx.

Balfreid is right in that the real difficulty in most larger raid groups was attendance and people slacking. Smaller scale raids have for the most part, been tuned to a much finer edge than larger scale ones, because it's harder to make up for the mistakes of 1 or 2 people in a smaller group than it is in a larger one.

So you hate interacting with people. Why are you playing a MMORPG? Call of Duty is right up the angle, few player interactions and mostly phew-phew. No one will bother your with their AFKs and you won't have to deal with idiot leaders!

    Find a good FC.

I've been a part of FFXI endgame for years, a game far less forgiving and that required far more dedication than this and that required an alliance to basically do anything.

Good thing NO ONE FREACKING FORCES YOU to run 24 man content, eh? You can keep running 8 man and pretend this is some kind of single player jrpg featuring co-op, but some people would like to be able to play with other FCs team, since, you know, this is a "massive multiplayer online game" people should want to play with more people as they can, especially people from their own FC.

The minute a "strat" goes viral it's not difficult anymore.

Fixed. I'll take this and other threads like this seriously when there are no calls by the same people to tone down the content the hour after it's released. Until then, I have no choice but to read these threads as "I want to be better than the other commoners!"
