Ahahah, God that Philos thing makes me anxious in unexpected ways. I know I can cap pre-patch, but I don't know what items to spend existing tomes on to make my life a bit easier in 2.2
Potash? Ore? ): -cry-

I-I'm so sorry. oTL <333
You know I was wondering about that. Certainly there are existing 3 star items I'd like from the existing mats, and I thought maybe I'd like a Vanya robe so I got enough potash for one. But now I'm not sure if I want to get animal fat for a vanity piece or if I want to keep purchasing blood to make ethers and what not.
I guess we'll have to wait until the 21st to hear if they say anything about it in the live letter! Until then I'll just cram my pockets with blood and potash.

Yup im in the same boat. Have been stockpiling some of each (Peacock, Animal Fat, Potash, Coke) but i'm worried they will be useless in terms of 3star Master Book Items. Which will most likely require a whole new subset of crafting materials purchasable using Myth.

my wife saw me reading the forums last night and she saw your sig over my shoulder. I then had to have a talk with her about internet forums and the sense of humor behind GIFs. She didn't understand and was visibly disturbed.
I think a 4 philo to 1 myth is a good ratio, based on how they are distributed. most dungeons were 100 to 30, and ct is 200 to 50. so it would make sense.
a buck for a retainer isn't bad, its what I spent on mules in xi, and they have been talking about the ability to add more for cash for a year. As long as the first two remain free, there shouldn't be too much drama, I hope.
mentioning the zodiac weapons is confusing at best and concerning at worst: They did just say that the leviathan weapons were supposed to be the best. While I expect them to be replaced eventually with something better, I would have thought they would have at least released them for a few months before releasing info on the next best thing?
They never said leviathan weapons would be the best. Yoshi P said they would be very powerful and if they follow the current model it will be on par or better than the current weapons from twin. The next best weapons will be in turns 6-9 and the zodiak weapons should be better than those but require a long grind to obtain.
Hopefully the zodiak quests are not based on an rng system or that people can sell clears or drops.

In what ways can they make Zodiak weapons take longer?
Possible ways to make this take longer:
Requires several items bought with new tomes, thus taking weeks to finish due to caps
Requires some tokens from a weekly quest
Requires a crafted weapon with over melds.
Requires random drops from new coil taking weeks to finish due to lockouts
Requires random drops from dungeons.
Requires daily items from daily quests which you must do daily to finish.
Requires a certain amount of EX primal kills.

It'll be all of the above. As part of a quest chain. With several time gated requirements to pad out the length. In what ways can they make Zodiak weapons take longer?

By which point you'll probably have a better weapon from T9.
