me my only concern will be the price, if it's 1 dollars per month in usa and that they ask us in europe 1 euro i will be kinda angry... because the dollars and the euro are not at the same value. and i will fill a bit.... well it's not fair.

Actually, yes they do and no you don't .. you only get to say whether you will continue to pay for their service, you have zero 'rights' to say anything about that service's offerings.
I suggest you educate yourself about how the Capitalist system works.

I am MORE than happy to pay my monthly subscription but then buy with additional dollars for
Retainers
More Bank Space
More Bag Space
Name Changes
Race Changes
More Character slots
Server Transfers
We pay our sub for the basic game and I have no problems paying more dollars to add the above items to my account. IF they start adding items that make the game Pay2Win then I will start screaming.
You do know it's already IS the case with subscriptions... (haven't checked the "extra services" like server transfer) but looks like it will keep being the case. What all the NA players that throw their money at forget is that we European will have to pay moar for it cause lolSE (though I'm not European myself lol But SE decided to group me with them *shrug*).
But well Europe never been too noisy about it, so I guess SE still don't care. Some went and faked an NA account, and some (blaming myself too) just shut up and pay lol (except mentioning it in the forums for a few times).

Australia is NOT and never has been part of Europe yet we are forced by SE to pay the equivalent of the Euro to play the game. I got a huge shock back in the beginning when I signed up for $65 for 3 months and instead got charged $95. I said I wouldn't keep paying after that sub ran out but sadly I wasn't finished with the game at the time it did so coughed up again.
And I cant help this but I have to say to all you people saying the RMTers are going to fill their accounts with extra retainers to send them out farming ARE YOU SERIOUS??? ONE real life person will make them more in one hour than 10 retainers will. Sending retainers out to gather 7 items per hour isn't going to break the game or make it pay to win. I have ALL DoL and DoH maxed and I did them all at the same time, I had to get 2nd, 3rd and 4th chars lvld so I could get retainers on them and then I created an FC and joined all my chars up to it so I could use the FC Bank to shift things between chars.
I am always running close to the wind with full retainers and FC bank. I'm so happy to get new retainers because I can fill them up and leave my alts in the FC and go join one with real live people in it![]()
Microtransactions in subscription based MMO... fantastic.
This exactly. Not only do they use our sub money to develop this to try and milk us for more, they deliberately forbid us from sending items to our alts so we dont make bank-mules giving us some b/s excuse about RMT abuse that makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever.Also retainers will be usable for farming. There is no way not to see this as paying for power and efficiency. At the end of the day this retainer product is still created with your money and now it's being sold to you instead of inserted as content. This is wrongful use of our money as content is what we pay for in this game. SE is selling us because they assume it makes the game more fun to play and thus making this a desirable product. They are willingly using the subscription money to further dime and nickel their customers.
Extra retainers could easily be a 2-year sub reward or a reward for high level quest. It's neither of those and thus it has teft written all over it.
Most of the folks wailing about microtransactions in a subscription MMO are upset in such a way that it sounds as though they believe that subscription MMOs have never had microtransactions. KraggyKor was pointing out that yes, subscription MMOs DO have microtransactions, and provided one example that is over ten years old. (Heck, the FFXI example is WORSE than a microtransaction - FFXI mules were microSUBSCRIPTIONS, to the tune of a dollar every month.)
Does this justify microtransactions in THIS MMO? I have no opinion on that. It DOES provide a precedent, though, from the very same company that's implementing them now.
