Like I said people should cool down, really, it's allways drama here in the forums and meanwile in the game you have 500'000 guys who're playing without the need of going to the forums and cry.

Well obviously, the forums are the place for people to voice their opinions about this game. I may log in to the game to play, but I wouldn't start shouting in Limsa my grievances with the game, because it's not the place for it.

If you're that offended by the idea that people are going to voice their opinion about FFXIV related information on the FFXIV forums, I really don't know what to tell you.

I do welcome constructive, clean and correct opinions/critism.

But those are so god damn rare in the forums ... it's just sad.

lol, don't worry about it. It just seemed as though you were against people voicing their negative opinions in the post I quoted. Personally I think people voicing negative opinions can be a good thing at times. In some cases it can actually shift the course of a product (example: Xbox One).

Most likely nothing will come of this discussion, but if enough people were to complain, and SE decided to change their course of action and refrain from offering their future bonuses through microtransactions in order to keep their user base happy, I doubt too many would complain.

I still don't see how it can be such a huge deal tho'.
Like this one person said nothing on MB really sells for all that much. As for having space for crafting.. I don't see how you'd have two retainers 100% full "if" you aren't leveling crafting professions anymore.

But you know I don't understand why I keep responding it isn't hurting me none if the dude next me has one extra retainer. I only have one who has ten things on them and a few things up for sale. /shrug. I really don't believe this will snow ball into some P2W rando-box bonanza but maybe I am just alil bit more level headed about things we know nothing about..

I'm sorry to disagree with a so much liked post, but the definition of P2W is totally different.

P2W is when you can get features giving advantages in game that none else can get without accessing the cash shop.

The hired shop retainers will give you access to items you can get in game, so there is no pay to win, but (maybe?) a shortage of time needed to get the items.

TL;DR: Have a way to get items faster is not a pay to win.

It is likely that retainers get dispatched for their ventures, meaning there will be no input from the player during the dispatch period. This is effectively pay for more mules to get more items with no effort, which is a form of P2W, albeit the "win" in this case isn't something so significant.

It's pretty easy to make 30k with 2 retainers by logging into the game for only 5 minutes/day. That's how I made my first millions without any spirit bonding stuff or time consuming endgame participation.

Also retainers will be usable for farming. There is no way not to see this as paying for power and efficiency. At the end of the day this retainer product is still created with your money and now it's being sold to you instead of inserted as content. This is wrongful use of our money as content is what we pay for in this game. SE is selling us because they assume it makes the game more fun to play and thus making this a desirable product. They are willingly using the subscription money to further dime and nickel their customers.

Extra retainers could easily be a 2-year sub reward or a reward for high level quest. It's neither of those and thus it has teft written all over it.

This exactly. Not only do they use our sub money to develop this to try and milk us for more, they deliberately forbid us from sending items to our alts so we dont make bank-mules giving us some b/s excuse about RMT abuse that makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever.
