That;s different, replay badge is selling power, so does the Diablo 3 rmah, they are selling power. It just seems like players always try to justify something not being p2w if it doesn't directly lead to a kill. Kind of like in DCUO where they sold replay badges which allow players to unlock locked end game raids to earn top of the line loot faster. "You still have to get the kill/run the content". Also they said the same thing about Diablo 3's RMT AH.
It's not that big of a deal to me retainers, it's more of what it usually leads to. Already seen the consequences of it in DCUO.

Should we not be allowed to have 2 accounts to mail stuff between the 2 and have 32 retainers then? As you say, that's pay to win!It just seems like players always try to justify something not being p2w if it doesn't directly lead to a kill. Could you not spill this secret lol, i have been using FC chest to transfer inbetween my alts to sell stuff. We already have access to 16 retainers per server. You can say, oh but you can't mail to alts! Well guess what, that already has SEVERAL work arounds. A trusted friend, access to a FC chest, dual boxing multiple accounts (which DOUBLES your already large number of retainers!). People are blatantly ignoring that NOTHING is keeping someone from buying and alt account, leveling it enough to get retainers and just mailing stuff between the accounts to have an astounding THIRTY TWO retainers.
They are selling CONVENIENCE. NOT pay to win. I don't agree with it either and I'm sorry but you guys make such bulls**t reasons to be against this.
Most ppl that complains here are poor people and remain poor, you shall. You are poor not because people have advantage, you are poor because you don't use your brain.

If got Legacy and $7.99 a month you already have access to 8 character per server 16 retainers total as long as you do the quests which take a couple hours. So I don't even see the big deal. If you aren't legacy its still only $14.99 a month for the same deal.

I'm going to have my retainers start a CT static and coil static and P2W.
You should have bought an authenticator.....
Your tears feed me....

Trust me on this there not going to bring back much.
Convenience has been sold by free to play games for a good while now in order to make money. It's part of the business model. They allow you to log in for free, they often allow you full access to all content in the game for free, but they make their money from things like vanity, quality of life upgrades, or time savers. More inventory slots is a pretty common cash shop item in these games.
If SE is going to start selling "convenience" in a cash shop, and they're still going to charge a minimum of $120 (and that's from legacy players, for everyone else it would be more) if you want to be able to even log in whenever you want for one year, it starts to look like a pretty low value overall. Paying a continuous subscription vs. free to play microtransactions is debatable, but continuous subscription and free to play style microtransactions is about as good as it gets for businesses but the worst combination for value for the consumer.

You obviously haven't played ffxi where you could add alts to your account for a dollar a month. Or something like that. Its been many years since I played ffxi. But I do know ffxi is still up and running and has been the best cash cow for them at this point.Convenience has been sold by free to play games for a good while now in order to make money. I've played FFXI since before NA PS2 release, but I will agree that FFXI is not completely innocent either.
