Min Control and Craftsmanship to create ** items

Okay so I spent most of my money and time acquiring everything I need to create a Deus EX Verbis (alch recipe sum i70 weapon) but it's not letting me craft it because my control is too low (and my craftsmanship is also too low to create Enchanted Rose Gold Ink, one of the things I need for the weapon). I've got the best gear i can possibly find that will impact these stats but still no good. I've tried food as well and still fall short. How are you able to get these stats up there? Assuming I may need to meld stuff to my already existing gear, but most of that requires my other crafts to be level 40+, which none are at this moment. My control is at 299 I need to be at 318, any ideas? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

You can get around 18 Control from melding your accessories alone so it might be worth looking into that.

Yes, you will need to meld materia into your gear. For melding gear that requires crafts you don't have at 50, you will need to ask for help from crafters who do have those crafts leveled. When you target another player, one of the options that you are given is "request meld" - this will allow you to set up a materia melding window, but lets the other person do the actual melding. That is how you meld gear that you can't meld yourself.

rather than doing it yourself if you dont have the other crafting classes leveled you would be better served by locating a 2 star HQ crafter on your server, since at this point any high end crafter worth the time can easily HQ it from NQ mats. I dont know about your server, but on Famfrit you can either go to Rev Toll or Limsa and shout and most anytime of day you can find someone who has mastered all the crafts. If your providing all the Mats they have no real excuse to charge you more than a few thousand gil for a Tip unless they need to use food or are just greedy

The most I've ever asked for for a tip was 5k to cover Food / Time myself, tho I've had people give me 20-25k of their own choice occasionally.

so if you're serious about ** items HQ, you need:
    - 347 Craftmanship
    - 340 Control
    - 370 CP with food

These stats can only be achieved by melding all your crafting gear. Typically you'll want to pentameld your accessories and belt to the max stats since they are cross class, then do the left side gear.

The following link provides information on how to properly meld crafting gear. It's a very useful guide.
    http://www.ffxivguild.com/ff14-arr-d...materia-melds/

Food will usually be used to boost your CP because even with melded gear, you won't be able to reach 370 CP required to guarantee 2 star HQ (the max is 345 which allows you to use Stone soup +17 CP to reach the cap).
BTW, not all crafting class are worth melding for 2 stars:
    - LTW, WVR, GSM are the most useful because they have a lot of ** recipes, the gear are useful, and they make good profit
    - ARM, BSM are good and have decent utility and profitability but
    - CRP, ALC, CUL are pretty bad. don't bother melding these classes.

I differ with you on this, I make a decent amount of money on HQ 2 star Culinarian foods and some of them are incredibly easy to get the ingredients for, one in particular costs me less than 50 gil ea to make and sells for 4k pretty consistently.
