Forum limitation with the posts. How does it work?

Hi there, the nooby here again.

I tried to search a topic where a person linked how the forum worked in that matter... I know it was a certain number of posts depending of your main char level... Or something like that....

How does exactly that work? Could someone give me the link? It is really annoying, I have to say, see many topics in General Discussion where I'd like to comment or give my opinion, and can't because a message saying I reached the limit...

(I wonder why is that, for example, I doubt someone would make a character level 50 in game just for spam the forum or something...Maybe, in the worst of the cases, someone that doesn't care about a ban because is leaving the game, would take his morning to spam forum, for later be account-deleted and easy.)

That said, I don't understand the reason of that limit... If someone could give this noob a reply... ^^

What I wonder if it is reseted every 0:00 am, or is based in 24h after the last post you did, because I didn't post anything today and is already capped.

It looks like it's really 24 hours based on your posting times, not just a reset once a day.

It is really a weird system, have to say... So if I did my last message at 15:30 hours, it won't reset the next day at that hour all the messages but reset for each timer of each message?... Is there anyway, tool or some idea for test if you can post already something without posting a nonsense in a topic, or without trying to really post something and get frustrated because you can't?


Edit: I think that it is based in 24h after your latest post, maybe... Because checking my latetst 20 posts. I should be able to post at least 2 or 3 topics already, by time... But can't.

The whole forum limitation situation is rediculous in the first place. I've never heard of a forum with this kind of system in place before.

To me, it's a sign of lazy moderation. If they have problems getting enough forum moderators, maybe get some volunteers from the player base?

It was introduced because back during Phase 3 of the Beta test last year stupid people were spamming the Beta forum with useless threads and posts, and hence SE decided to bring some order to the chaos the best way was to implement posting restrictions. It should also be noted the Community team who moderates this forum also have to moderate the FFXI forum as well, so they're responsible for two separate forums. Really, the restrictions aren't too bad, as they're easy enough to deal with.
