    Frozen Characters

The game works fine, its just my characters. Neither my character nor NPC's and enemies move. For example, when I move it looks like a moving statue. Everybody has their arms extended out in a stiff position.

I would also suggest, aside from filling out the full bug report, verify that you have the most recent drivers for your vid. card, just in case it is a local issue.

It is kind of strange though, I think animations would be processed outside of the gfx card... maybe corrupted data? How much RAM does your system have? Try grabbing the latest DirectX libraries, and, like oragami mentioned, drivers too. If all else fails, try reinstalling. Stick with us though! FFXIV is developing quickly into one of the better MMO's out there

Animations to models are done by using skinning methods(hopefully DualQuaternion in this game) and bones. The animator generates matrices from the bones that are applied to vertices near each bone. This is calculated on the GPU. The matrices can also be calculated on the GPU and this is where the problem might come from, since not all cards support this the same way in DX9.

I would also like to stand by my statement about drivers. New laptops are not known for having updated drivers. In fact, quite the opposite. Laptops are known for coming off the assembly line with outdated drivers. Not saying that's the issue; Am saying update and double check that it isn't the issue.

Also, specs? I don't mind trying to troubleshoot even if it is a bug. If I'm wrong and it isn't local, at least you'll have documented proof that the devs can see. I guess in theory that might incline them to not shove the thread into technical support?
