launcher fails, and files possibly missing? mabye

every time i click the launcher it does this

a system error has occured: -2146697211

then i close it out, now ive poked around a bit and nada. i Dont want to Reinstall the game cuz itll take way to long for me, i went into the game folder at
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot
and clicked the
ffxivboot
ffxivlauncher
ffxivupdater

boot
brings up a black screen launcher, and does the ling i listed above

launcher- does this
unable to launch application. launch using the ffxivboot.exe file.

updater- does this again
unable to launch application. launch using the ffxivboot.exe file.

so i went here
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\game
and clicked

ffxiv

and it did this
unable to launch application. launch using the ffxivboot.exe file.(0)

so any ideas as to wtf is going on here?

Have you checked your IE settings? I know IE isn't well liked but, the updater may be using IE to connect to that link. Changing the settings so IE connects properly might help (proxy settings most likely).

For me, this was not an issue that was resolved through SE but rather my own ISP. I'll try to make this brief but the issue I had was far from that. My epic journey basically ended when I call my ISP, found out they had most of asianic IP addresses blocked and got them to unblock SE servers. Both from the NA/EU server and Japanese servers. ISP's are there not to block you but to protect you so just call and tell them why you need these unblocked and that they are not a risk to the server integrity.

Japanese server block: 124.150.152.0 - 124.150.159.255
NA/EU server block: 199.91.189.0 - 199.91.191.255

beyond the trouble that I had with this and not being able to get to the SE forums or support to get help, I eventually got the game to work again and will finally be able to look forward to 2.2. This was my last resort sort of because I tried everything else and some of the other options might be easier and work for others. I tried ipconfig settings, router settings, port forwards, and anything else I could find info on the web but this is what worked for me.

However, here is some other information I got through the process.

This is the best information I have on this subject but I'm no techie. But the error report your getting is a connection error either from your router itself or your ISP and if this doesn't work then you can always call or get live chat from SE and simply ask them to run a tracert to YOUR IP address and see where it stops. The last IP before it times out is usually where the connection problem is... its where mine was.

its some issue with IE that entire thing sucks anyway tho but its not connecting to anything, again i never Touch the program cuz it sucks.
it keeps telling me to connect to xxx.x.x.x: xxxxx but when i try it says it cannot connect, yet i connect to everything els as far as websites and mmo's go

i fixed IE somehow decided to set itself to use LAN settings
