    I'm surprized market wards looked like what they do to begin with.

    I found the vids/pics I seen to be a eye sore.

    Also...... lets keep on topic because I feel debating on wheather this is a good idea/ or a needed change is just derailing the point of my suggestion. I'm all for hearing your suggestions, just not you disklike of my suggestion and thats it.

    :/ I'm trying awefly hard to be nice here. Can you please at least give me that?

    I feel they could expand on the retainer system so much.

    Add retainer pearls. They could the following things:
    1) Tell you when an item sold
    2) You could communicate with them to sell certain items (sorta the retainer bazaar menu from anywhere)
    3) You could ask them to seek and purchase an item without you being there from anywhere in the world. Just would have to charge like a 10% tax to make it where ppl actully still do in there.
    4) Set them to buy an item from the Wards when you are not online. Charge a 20% tax on this and cap the amount you can seek to prevent abuse.

    It sorta makes sense the retainers are working for you so they have different service fees based on their action.

    Do this and add retainer bells at all the camps. And I feel the system would work extremely well.

    An Action house works, but there is no reason with the system fleshed out more it could not surpass what the Ah can do.

    Doing it that way would be just like auctioning but you didnt have to be near the auction house to do it. Less of a crowd on the upside. downside anyone can buy / sell anything any time, Unless you had to pick up the item or drop items off at the retainer at the city. This would be more of a fast and easy way of managing things without porting to your retainer while lets say on an adventure? Retainer pearls sounds alright, but one of the main things they wanted for this game was for people to talk and barter things with each other instead of wow just posting stuff in ah log off....

    The one issue I am going to point out in this idea now that I am taking a minute to look it over

    making the zones bigger, is going to make load times worse, that is the biggest flaw to a huge open ward
    and it is actualy the issue we may see if the game ever gets enough users to completely fill up the wards in general even at their current size

    yep. i agree. Everquest baz had this problem with 100's in same zone. it was a nightmare....

    I think the worst was when they moved to entrance to the Bazaar to PoK talk about lag spikes.

    Which is why, at least in my opinion, they went with the 12 or so different Market Wards they have now. The only problem, at least on my server is that everyone is selling in the Lower or Middle Tailors Wards. With us being able to only have two retainers and a search function that searches all the wards it seems that it would be better to go back to the original names for the wards and limit the number of retainers that can be in a specific ward at one time so as to prevent lagging and to utilize more of the wards.

    Nice ideas. Like I said When I do play the game I want to use the wards which I support. I like having a retainer be my "hired" shopkeep. I just don't like the random mess eye sore. I have ADD and what I saw is very overwhelming. If I played now I wouldn't walk into the market wards since they are so messy. I get ADD moment where I forget what I was looking for, more so in messy rooms like that. It can get very frustrating.

    What they could do to flesh out retainers, if you have a retainer free, you go select you items and do a retainer fetch. Retainer gets the items bring it to you. Give a cute lil cute scene with it like "here you go master, I'm happy to help" And you could set it up in a shopping cart manner if you wanted to buy multiple items. Retainer gets all items and gives it to you.

    Again just suggestions to make the market wards neater.

    I do like the idea of a big market area very much!!! I hate the small areas we currently have and its doent fit to the "seemless world" at all. every zone needs loading and it just feels like a huge timesink without any way of socializing.

    Perhaps one could make shops with npc sellers, depending what they sell the retainer from whoever comes out of a tent for trade (the entrance in the case of Uldah would be the same). So there will be less of a mess, and less work for the engine or ppls rigs - just imagine this game will have more ppl in the future, neither the small wards we have, nor a big will work out due to being too crowded.


    For me it still is funny that SE keeps the market wards, since their engine isnt capable of handling a lot of ppl/npcs at a time and they wont get rid of a certain lag anytime soon. Even in the small wards npcs are being loaded in and out, pop in, and out, its horrible. The system/engine seems not to be able to handle it properly. - no i dont have a slow rig or internet connection - and its not only me haveing that problem.
    I think that is also one reason for the instability.

    If they keep that system they have to work REALLY hard in improving the engine- install servers not only in japan, perhaps, so npcs load faster, not "after" you passed it. As long as that problem is there for many ppl i dont see a future for the market wards they way they are, since its a resource drain. And the problems VS benefit are nowhere near acceptable atm.
