Free Company Standing

So after googling and forum searching I couldn't find an answer to my question so I'll just ask here z.z Only thing I found was the same reposted information and FC recruitment threads lol

How do you earn Standing in Free Companies with the Grand Companies? The only source of information I found on this said you have to have members belonging to GC in your FC (and not any form of details on that either, like if it's limited to certain actions from said players). But this is simply confusing. My Free company is a third of the way to Rank 5. Only me and my wifey have ever been in it beyond the nice people we asked to help us create it and leave minutes later like two months ago with Maelstrom as our GC. I belong to Twin Adder and she belongs to Immortal Flames. So if that was true our standing should never have made it past Neutral and be just shy of reaching level 4 standing with Maelstrom. We noticed from leveling our standing the cost of company actions dropped so we would like to reach the highest standing with Maelstrom for the cheapest prices on actions. But we don't know how our standing is even increased to begin with lol. So does anyone know?

what exactly do you mean by standings? in terms of progression you can check your server subforum. everything else i don't know you'll need to be more specific

I already tried both google for third party sites and forums but all I find are explanations of what an FC is, how to start one, FC actions, how to make FC points, ect...nothing on increasing standing

Edit: Except for the one site I did find but as I said it doesn't make sense and I'm severely doubtful it works because we have no Maelstrom members yet we have almost level 4 standing with Maelstrom.

You align your FC with a Grand Company, then things people in your free company do, fates, hq gathering/synthing, quests, stuff like that you are now doing sort of in the name of that GC and you gain favor, you can swap you FC allegiance, but as you increase that of another, any you have with others will fall.

I don't think individual GC affiliation matters. I think everyone in the FC contributes to the same GC standing, the one that the FC is allied to. I don't know what exactly contributes, but I can imagine doing FATES, GC Leves, and Supply Missions might contribute.
