When you are in the group, you probably aren't facing the right direction when the treasure chest is checked to start, then turn 47 degrees anti-clockwise when you open it for the reward. As for the initial direction you need to face, that is a bit difficult to explain, you have to take into account the area, the time of day, quality of the map/chest, number of people in your party, which day of the week your latest subscription started, current value for an ounce of silver, the flavor of the day at a small custard stand just outside of Aurora, Illinois, and a have a working knowledge of advanced calculus to determine it.

I've been waiting for the monk pants to drop from turn 1 for several months. Yet I hear other people complaining that they are the only thing that drops for them. I think the RNG hates me... :/

I have done 200+ treasure hunts so far and saw Bluebird and Tomberry minions ONCE, of course I did not win lol. Over the last weeks, I have lost interest in them completely and rather sell the maps for a gaurantueed 6-10k per day which is also nice. Low chances are a way to keep you interested, if the chances are as low as they are for a treasure map minion, people might lose interest. I do not know the real numbers but I doubt the drop chance is much higher than 1-2%. So you have a very low drop chance and on the other side 8 people competing to get it. Not really something where I say it is worth the hunt or realistic. One day it might be mine but I stopped chasing for treasure map minions.
