Incrase the penalty for leaving a dungeon

I've found it merely impossible to get into any of the new dungeons, specifically Haukke Manor Hard, Copperbell Mines Hard, or Pharos Siruius without a member raging about how gear is too low, even the the average level is 5+ levels above the recommended level. I've been playing this game for a long time and I created a new account on a new server and it's near impossible to play the recommended dungeons without being harassed by someone before a buff is even cast. People will gear check and if it's not up to their standards they leave immediately, and because of this there needs to be a more severe penalty for people who drop out early, even when the gear level of the members in quest is 5+ levels higher than the recommended Duty Finder requirement.

I haven't tried it with lower ilv but to be honest, I think recommended ilv+5 is still quite difficult for these dungeons. DPS checks are quite hard imo.

Here's what they'll do instead: take off all equips, pull mobs, wipe party till you all initiate vote kick. Then said player gets nothing lost, not even a lockout timer.

If anything I think the timer should be lowered or removed. I think forcing players to play together who don't want to (regardless of the reason) is just going to wind up unfun for everyone.

Plus, players can circumvent the 30 min timer by going AFK and making you vote-kick them. It feels like a really dumb system and you can be hit with the penalty for something as silly as a DC. Since almost everything in the game is instanced, the 30 min timer basically says that this game you're playing to have fun, well forget about that. Suddenly you can't help FC mates, you can't join groups that better mesh with your needs (for you that would be people that don't give you grief about your gear and for them it would be people that have better gear).

It sucks that people have been jerks about your gear but wouldn't you rather play with people who aren't going to give you grief about it anyway? I'd prefer it if people didn't insist that SE devise a system that forces people to play with people who they don't want to play with. Games should be fun. For everyone.

I noticed a lot of people will be like "afk kick me" when they don't want to do a run.

Or don't want to kick me? I'll just logout (not leave) and let the auto-kick function do the job. Ta-da! No penalty for me.

This would be nice against people who do it purpose, but what about those that for example, have an emergency?

I say this, because today I was tanking a Garuda EX, and something happened IRL that i had to pull out of the game and help out someone in my family. I, of course, had to turn off my game and attend to my life, It would have been a real shame if I came back and I was stuck with a giant penalty due to circumstances that I could not possibly avoid.

well.. there's just a lot of elitists out there(we already know that because of the whine threads about accidental nerf on t5 that was fixed right away). I've failed Pharos Sirius first boss a lot of times in a Duty Roulette with everyone ilvl 88+ because the other dps thinks he can just burn the boss and ignore adds, especially if this other dps hits really hard like BLM.. I think I saw 7 dogs at one point. It's funny how really good gear can work against you on that boss since the adds spawn by the boss' hp % I think. You get overrun so fast if you ignore them.

In this case, you can actually do something like recommending a different strategy to the group.

When it becomes a gear issue, you cannot do anything. The ilevels for some dungeons are a tad too low for DF. They assume perfect play or near mastery of your job using the bare minimum gear. Most DF groups do not contain people who have mastery of their jobs. After the first few pulls in a dungeon, it's not hard to see where the run will go.

Well...... SE messed it up with the gear requirements in the first place. I mean, put the same gear requierement for wanderer palace than for Haukke Manor HM is a fail, (shoud be a bit more) but putting the same to Pharos Sirius is an EPIC fail
For exemple, in Pharos Sirius if you enter and see that people is around ilvl 55, you have 2 options, spend 30-60 minutes checking if that unknow people is very good and know the dungeon perfectly (And the odds are agains't you, cause if they have such low gear they probably don't have much experience) and if you "may" have an option of finish the dungeon on the 90 minutes (Cause with very low gear takes a lot of time), or you can leave and try again on the roulette later. Most people prefer the second option. And it's ok.

SE coud solve this changuin the gear requirements. WP 50, AK 53, HM Dungeons 58 and Pharos 63, or something like that. Of course the problem is that we woud have dungeons with rewards with less ilvl than the required, but... That's his fault too
Dutty Roulette shoudn't give EM challengues because of extremely low ilvl requirement. Dutty Roulette shoud be something casual were almost every group can complete any dungeon as long as they know "more or less" how to play.
The "Hard" things shoud be done with people you know.
