Monks are crap and they will keep crap ... the best dps combination is DRG/BLM/BRD/SMN. SE needs to remove the Monk in this game, he is a worthless class

In term of utility, usefulness, and need it is most definitely the Bard. One Bard per static is enough and stacking them is not a good idea (stacking in general). You can afford not to have a MNK, DRG, BLM or SMN in your static but every group needs a Bard. They are just too good and offer a lot. Matter of fact an excellent Bard benefit the group more than any other DD job.
The hard part is finding that one good bard to be in your static, I had to go through nine of them before I found an excellent bard, but he was damn worth it as he made the entire group life in every single fight much easier and better.

SMN. If needed you can quick res one of the healers and they can res the other. Although nothing annoys me more than a SMN who doesn't micromanage properly
BRD. Always welcome for songs/support
BLM. Love it when my SMN gets paired up with a good BLM in DF, everything just melts.

"Alot" is not a word. Allot is but it's unlikely to be what you want, try "A lot".
Most Useful Classes Are SMN and BRD IMO, With SMN slightly ahead in my book.
SMN
- In Battle REZ
- AOE Bind for 20 Sec
- Eye for an Eye
- Blind
- Heavy
- Super Virus
- Wicked AoE DPS (Dots+Contagion+Shadow Flare+MiasmaII+Enkindle+Aeriel Slash+ Blizzard = Death For All)
- Wicked Single Target DPS( 1300+ Festers Crits )
BRDs
- Healers Best Friend
- Mobile
- Silencer
- Only Class with 100% DPS Uptime
- Great AoE DPS
Tanks be Like....
Is Black Mage actually good for any of the Extreme Primals? I don't think I've met a single BLM that impressed me in any of the zillion EX runs I've done.
(in before "b-but plumes in 'ruda!")
I'd much rather have a SMN, more bards or even all-melee for EXs, tbh.

Too bad we are on a different server.
Apart from the plumes, BLM excels in Ifrit, I guess. Ranged party makes things easier for Ifrit so I won't discuss about meelees here.
Although SMN did more damage overall, but the only crucial parts are the nail phases and BLM did well there I guess.
SMN can leave dots at nails, but careless attacks can make the stacks go high due to later nails are destroyed too fast, so I guess BLM and BRD are easier and safer to play there.
Just my viewpoint as BLM, though. You can say I'm biased![]()
You just haven't met with a potent BLM. Those that can pull 300+ DPS for Twintania fight.
Totally agree on this. SMN can be dangerous in Ifrit nail phase. What i usually do is to dot up nails counter clockwise and make sure to only dot those that have full health. When my target overlaps with those that my team members are hitting, i proceed to join them and dps normally. This is to ensure nail stack doesn't go high suddenly.

Reminded me of a fight where we had 3 bards inside, all the bards spread windbite all over the place, and we ended up wiped because the nails died one after another like domino effect.![]()
Caster in ifrit hm <3 Dat lb *_*
I love being in party with blm/smn generally, due to foe requiem/battle voice.
