I haven't, and that's what's bothering me. To me BLM seems great in dungeons and T4/T5, but I can't really think of any EX fight where I'd go aww yiss a blm. I mainly spend my evenings doing EXs for the funsies, and PF BLMs on my server rarely break 200.

BLM is next on my leveling list though once I'm done with WAR . I just can't think of any EX fight where I'd want/need to spec BLM instead of any other available dps class. I'm sure there's neat tricks and awesome burst windows where good BLM can really shine, but looking at the class from outside it feels like they're the gimp class in EXes.

A BLM has strong first rotation burst if they end the initial rotation with a swiftcast>flare>convert>fire then into blizz 3, if lucky you might even get a fire 3 proc on the fire, also helps to use raging strikes during this. After that our single target DPS becomes based on procs fore firestarter and thundercloud. I personally enjoy being with a BRD, MNK, and DRG. DRG has that Disembowel for themselves and BRD, BRD has Foes Requiem, MNK is the heavy single target DPS and BLM is the comfortable DPS.

I think Bard is the most useful dps ofc.
But for a team comp i think
DRG:huge burst damage and strong single target and good aoe damage, can also share the debuff with bard
    BLM:huge burst damage,unlimited mana,highest aoe damages
    SMN:can raiz,strongest single target dps(IMO),good burst
Bard:Can dps wihout any interruption resulting in a really good dps(even if it's the lowest) and can support greatly with songs.

Team comp like this resulting on a huge single target dps(SMN +melee)high versatility(SMN can raiz,3 range so if a fight is not good for the melee they can help him on that)very high aoe damage(bard song+his aoe+DRG aoe +BLM aoe are just destroying adds really quick) and huge burst damage.

SMN and MNK seem to kill things the fastest with good players...though it's tough to find good players sometimes. Bard helps bad or poorly equipped healers. BLM seems to bring the least utility to me, just lots of aoe...though they do great burst damage if they can stand still long enough.

As a healer/tanker, classes i want to see in dungeons:
#1 - summoner, the only class that can revive a dead healer (otherwise wipe) -- not needed if people knows what they are doing
#2 - bard: excellent aoe, excellent dd, recovery songs. - agreed
Classes i do not want to see:
#1 - BLM: squishy and afraid to use spells because they might steal aggro; -- Noobs ignore quelling strikes, solves a lot of issues
#2 - MNK/DRG: i cannot move because it screws their positioning, and they get hit by almost all melee aoes, and over all that they make bosses immune to stun; -- noobs who dont know fights will get screwed. Otherwise I don't see an issue.
#3 - newbie healer dps - they just cause unreasonable wipes. - agreed

How often do you need to move while tanking that positional attacks get annoying? My PLD is only mid40s, but it hasn't bothered me at all. MNK/DRG come with a great LB, too.

BY FAR the two most "useful" dps are SMN and BRD.
SMN - in combat res, virus, eye for an eye, really strong damage both single target and AoE, and can even emergency tank.
BRD - Ballad, FoeReq, silence, slightly lower damage than other DD's, healing limit break can res everyone to prevent a wipe on some fights

Both are ranged and high mobility fights don't affect them all that much.

Going to have to go with BRD and SMN as well. Other classes have their niche moments but Bard and Summoner seem to be the most consistent. Especially where those oh s...t moments come in.

Looks like a lot mentions on summoners, meanwhile I've been hearing no one really plays SMN and SMNs I knew were laughing at the fact that in Wineport, no one ever shouts "LFM SMN for coil" lol.

But really, for a progression team, I really think BRD and SMN is a must in party composition. Both gives consistent damage as they aren't affected by mobility fights. SMN is there to swift res a dead healer and if the dead healer is a WHM, you will need a BRD to Battle Voice-Ballad the raised WHM. Even if the content is on farm, like T5 for my team, it's still pretty important as shit can happen during hatch phase and there were times where our WHM died, SMN did a swift rest and I'll just move over to the WHM and do a Battle Voice-Ballad. Without it, the team would probably wipe (yes there's a SCH in this forum that does a solo T5 heal, but we've never done so).
