Why is it that good players are always expected to teach bad players?

Because you were once considered a bad player who had to have someone who knew what they were doing to tell you, so you pass it down to the next guy. I know you were never a "bad player", yes you were just no one told you because they knew you were new and could improve. We are expected to because that's how runs go from fail fests to wins.

There's nothing wrong with new people willing to learn, it's the lazy ones who get me. The ones who have Turn 5 / 6 gear and sit on AK boss letting orbs drop in hopes to DPS it down the final bit only to fail and realize they should of dropped that bomb some place else like they're suppose to. Or the elite guy who teaches the new people the burn way instead of the right way first and go from there.

Not really, I learn on my own most of the time. I either make practice parties or do it with friends so we help each other out. I don't go into Twintania or fights that I don't belong in and expect everyone to take their time to teach me. That's a pretty selfish thing to do.

You don't get paid but at the end of the dungeon, you get myth/soldiery tome + loot which is the same.

In this case it would be the teacher getting paid the same as the student.

No one expects the good to teach the bad, however, if you complain that people are bad but aren't helping the problem then prepare to be bitched at for contributing to the problem.

So if I complain about crime but don't go out and put on a Bat suit to fight it, am I contributing to the problem?

You must have had some pretty bad luck then, because I typically get multiple commendations on runs where I offer positive advice.

Bad analogy there. More appropriate would be, you witness a crime in progress but don't call the police. That is contributing to the problem.

That's like saying if I witness RMT but don't report them, then I am contributing to the problem. Just because you don't do anything about it, doesn't mean you're contributing to it. I am neither responsible nor helping the cause.
