This is the exactly the elitist attitude that is the problem. Who is being dragged down on the duty finder when some one is watching cutscenes for the very first time? Who is being dragged down when someone gets to a new dungeon that they have never been to before?

My main point. You are in a group with others. If those others are on a higher level, more experience, whatever, you expect them and only them to come down to your level? You don't intend to meet them halfway at all? Because that's what you're saying. There are many different ways to "have fun", but if you're not willing to meet half way with people not like you, you're just as bad as those you complain about.

Comparing games to taxes to win your argument is a bit of a fail.

Also, who cares if someone gets mad at you for being 'bad' or skipping a cut scene. It's simple. Get. over. it.

Obviously you keep bringing up school and work, so you have a life outside the game. So the tank gets a little pissy. Cool story. Deal with it. Because no amount of complaining on the forums is going to magically make them suddenly have an ultimatum and go 'Oh.. maybe I should be nicer now.'

BTW, given this is tax day, and there are plenty of folks who love to game the tax system and have plenty of fun doing it. So it is absolutely NOT a fail. For those of us not in that select 1%, elitist... it might be a fail, because it is NOT fun for us, we got nothing that we can even begin to game with, in the context of a RPG, we are naked got no gear. LOL, perhaps not even allowed to create your character.

And I've got nothing against tanks. What I am against is the speed runners, whether they are DPS, healers, or tanks. And it is not just any speed runners, but those elitist jerks that forced everyone else to speed run without any other options and little or no communication or negotiation. I am agnostic to the speed run itself, provided that I been thru that dungeon more than once, and I am not undergeared. And if I am undergeared.... in which case when I am the healer and I die, there goes any speed and time you hoped to achieve. Can't do much about the mathematical limitations there.

BTW, I don't expect the jerks to get any nicer. People are people, they will do what they want. But that does NOT mean we have to take it silently. Calling out their bad behavior could hopefully deter other people from being jerks, and hopefully they could get the message and use the party finder and quit fouling up the duty finder and expecting to speed run.

What does meeting half way mean? How some one with iLevel 50 meet halfway with iLevel 90+? How does someone get to run the dungeon at half speed run, when the speed runner doesn't even communicate? Seriously?

It is like smokers in restaurants, public indoor spaces? How do you meet these people halfway? The foul up the air and everyone else has to breathe it. That is a problem. I don't ask that smoking be made illegal, just that in public spaces with lots of others people, the smoker go smoke away from the others, go to their smoking section or outside. Similarily speed runners should do their speed runs using the party finder, and don't go to the duty finder with the unreasonable expectation that everyone else can speed run with them.

First of all, I have always been against forcing people to skip cutscenes and similar. I even hinted at that, but you skipped over it.

Meeting half way means putting in more effort than you might normally, it's that simple. They put in effort, you don't want to put so much. So they have to come down to you, but not the other way around?

Agreed. Any tank in DR Who doesn't stop to check the party's gear before running ahead and pulling the whole instance and ends up dying should blame no one but himself.

a bit off (I don't wanna make thread about it) - any idea how long will SE keep my character alive ? My sub'll be gone and I have no need to resub, will SE keep my character ?

I might wanna return to game when expansion is up.
Bur I m not interested in game in its current state and I m also not interested in patches between as it ll bring nothing more than nerfed-crafters/gatherers and more fates and other stupid weekly lockouts, so you can't play content with more ppl from your fc. I'll be gone for long on the other hand I don't wanna lose my char for long-term inactivity.

I don't think players are getting worse, I think it's more like expectations are getting too high. It's almost like some people expect a well oiled dungeon stomping machine everytime they use DF, in some groups you can feel the tension start building after just one wipe. I was doing the main story roulette the other day on my SCH and as the tank left he decided to inform everyone that it was the worst group he'd ever played with. That kinda surprised me as not one person was KO'd at any point, the off tank picked up all the adds, everyone knew the mechanics and the dungeon ended in a reasonable time. The run was a little bit sloppy in places but that was about it, no biggie and I just assumed everyone had run it a million times and wheren't really pushing it to the max, so to speak. I guess you just can't please some people.

Couldn't have said better. This. So true. You know your job, know your skill rotation, and even then, even knowing the fight, you CAN still make mistakes. Just because you make mistakes doesn't mean you are a bad player. No one is perfect. NO ONE. People just forget they are playing with REAL people with feelings, just like them (well, most of these people don't seem to have feelings anyways) and they have zero respect.

Specially for new fights... I'm so tired of people feeling they are badasses and complain about others making mistakes, but when they make mistakes, they don't admit to them, it's easier to blame someone else, yeah?

I also agree, rage quitters are the bad players here.
