Or...they boosted in Guildhests, which is actually quite common, sadly. And even then, if you tank or heal you are almost guaranteed 1 or 2 commendations per run, sometimes all three, as long as you just do your job even somewhat competently.
lol yes xD You can spot the bored 50 with sugar coming off their tongues from a mile away, obviously digging for commendations ....
I'm sure there are. I don't really go out of my way to farm them. Haven't done much content in df in a long time. I enjoy pf a lot better since you get to play with players on your server and might end up meeting players that you can actually play with again.

Why is it that good players are always expected to teach bad players?
Because it is in the best interest of the good player to do so. It is NOT like you have to teach them everything or your best moves or techniques or PvP secrets. You teach them enough so they can teach others and in turn it helps you from having to suffer through their newbness.
It is enlightened self interest. Think a couple steps ahead and you'd be even better off in both real life and in game.
What did I say that would lead you to believe I'm not doing any of the things you mentioned? The fact that I don't feel someone should be expected to help?
Not really, if you play enough mmos you know there are simply these type of players that are moochers/leechers. You have to separate them from the players that genuinely needs help. All I'm saying is that I'm selective. It's great that everyone on here helps everyone and all. End game FFXIV would be awesome if this forum represented anything close to in game end game reality.

This is the STUPIDEST argument ever. People with certain skills teach teenagers because it's their JOB. They are TEACHERS who get PAID. When bads start paying me to teach them how to not derp, I'll be glad to do so.
To the people who say, "Relax and have fun," I say this: You can tell a lot about a person by how much effort they put into everyday tasks, and how much pride they get from doing something the right way. If you want to continue failing at dungeons, refusing to read about encounters, wearing the wrong gear, and playing your class badly, fine. When your laziness and bad attitude find themselves in a group with me, however, I will not hesitate to point it out. If you don't like that, feel free to ruin someone else's group.
No one said good players are "expected" to teach bad players. What people are arguing is that experienced players should help teach inexperienced players. There's a big difference between poor play caused from lack of skill versus lack of knowledge. Like it or not, most people either don't want to invest time outside of the game reading up on the game, or they think they know how it works, when in reality they don't. These are the people worth helping. People like they guy I argued with for 10 mins about why he shouldn't Provoke pull every mob and boss are the ones who aren't worth helping :P
