BTW with a the large influx of inexperienced players, a.k.a. so called bads, showing up, could it be that influx was a contribution of the 50% off sale on steam not that long ago?
Then the taxes they charge at the market board should be used to hire in game teachers. lolol I want to see my in gil taxes at work!

Believe it or not I'm a helpful guy with a good reputation. Like 200+ of those commendations thingies. I just don't like how players make it sound like you should help everyone like it's obligatory. You get taken advantage of that way, I'm more selective in who I help and when to give it.

And i freely give advice to anyone whom i see struggling. They can take it and do better, or ignore me and do what they were doing. I'm just not selective about who i try to help.

Because good players whine about bad players? If you're not going to help, that's your prerogative, but don't turn around and complain about it. That's like people complaining about the president when they didn't even vote. If you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem.

It's called community. If you see an old man burdened with carrying too much and struggling to get through a door do you stop to hold the door open, or tell him next time look up a walk through for the door on YouTube and equip himself better?

No, they kick him over and call him a filthy senior citizen before skipping inside and waving at him once it starts raining. Then QQ about him blocking the doorway.

Wanna know what I find incredibly funny?

"I refuse to watch videos, read guides, or ask for help because I want to learn things for myself and feel accomplished".

but those same exact people also say:

"WTF you elitist why won't you help me? It is your duty to teach new players! Stop telling me to learn for myself!".

The vast majority of the playerbase is more than capable of learning for themselves (and says that they want to) but the second you suggest that they actually do that they lose their minds.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why so many players don't care to teach anyone because it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.
