This game caters to all players who have varying skill(well more to the low end), so it is expected.

If the game was hard enough, it will filter out all the bad players.

Also not to mention, the difference between grinding(with actual mobs) and doing FATES, When you faceroll to 50 using FATES, all you do is stand in one area and blindly cast magic and you get a trophy. So when the WHM reached 50, he probably played like he would do FATE, stand there and cast random crap and expect win.

Same goes for BRD that doesn't know what a ballad is.

The Job Quest should focus on how to use every skill that job has to offe in orderr to survive, so the player will know about the skills.

Heck, at the start of the launch. i did not know about Shield Swipe, my PLD was already 50, and i haven't started any quest, so i was sitting on my pld, even do dungeons without it. *not like it is used much anyway but the point tho*

It not really that there bad, just most the time they have no clue what there doing, They see a few videos , or there friends tell them. That they just need to level fast and then they will help them. and they then learn the fastest way to exp to 50 .

It Was fates, now it the dungeon clear a room and leave thing. Then they try to play the game . When it counts. and makes them look bad or if it is someone new to the basic mmo genre from the console then there total lost lol.

Square should have had a better training system set up on the job quest so that the power level people would actually need to learn the job once they got to level 50 solo, and as how to play the job in a general group, and not the story dungeons that players get carried through.

Not all players that need help are newbies.

Also to be able to help someone they need to be able to take criticism and we all know how well this forum takes criticism. It's a fight to the death.

"WTF you elitist why won't you help me? It is your duty to teach new players! Stop telling me to learn for myself!".

The vast majority of the playerbase is more than capable of learning for themselves (and says that they want to) but the second you suggest that they actually do that they lose their minds.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why so many players don't care to teach anyone because it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.
    Quoted for truth.

If you need to ask that you probably should not be playing an MMO.

This is an online multiplayer game. Everything is centered around playing with other people and not all players pick things up on as quickly as others, some need guidance. It is integral part of the MMO dynamic. And people who have no compassion or patience are the people who create toxic communities within MMOs.

Not saying that is you, or the OP for that matter. But just keep that in mind next time someone in your group is struggling and your sitting their rolling your eyes thinking "come on dude get your shit together". Give them a chance first.Offer direction and advice and you might be surprised.

Dude, I understand what you're saying. I enjoy helping nice friendly people that really needs help. The issue is that people try to make it out like it's an obligation to help. Not everyone that needs help is a friendly newbie. You get taken advantage left and right. Helping at times, requires hours of your time depending on content and the persons learn rate.

To be fair though from the other end of it. I'm a pretty quick learner coming from other games, I'm pretty much brand new. People have been pretty helpful as I've been going through the leveling process. I have however dealt with a few people that just seem extremely hostile towards me for sheer factor of the fact that I'm new, before every boss fight in a duty for instance I just ask "Hey is there anything I need to watch out for" or something along those lines, I don't want the group to wipe. I don't want to be the reason the group wipes. Ya know, it's really easy to just be like just get the candles in the corner or make sure and get the cannons when the dragon shows up. But every now and again you get someone who just turns into the assiest of asses for no real reason. I dunno I had a point and then I kinda lost it.
