When new players show up on the instance for the very first time and never seen the cut scenes, that is a special moment and they should NOT have their game experience messed up by your speed runners, and yes it does NOT matter if there are 7 of you, because that moment is only ONCE and only ONCE.

It's not that special and DF is for everyone.

But my point is that I don't believe the majority of players do like to speed-run / research fights before entering / prioritize tomes over enjoying the run without stress over people making mistakes. I believe there are selfish end-game players who have dominated the duty finder to make their play-style more convenient. They will ridicule and intimidate players who slow them down, scaring half the players away from the duty finder altogether. A lot of the players using the duty finder also will probably not mind slowing down, but they don't want to get on the wrong side of the player that shouts at noobs for watching cutscenes, so they clam up.

I was trying to explain how if a group of bullies dominate a playpark, and they want to spin the roundabout faster. Everyone stays the hell away out of fear because when you ask them to slow down you get abuse, even though the bullies are a minority in the community as a whole. Maybe one tougher kid decides they want to actually use the park as intended, and tells the people he's going to go slow and won't be bullied into going fast. He'll put his foot into the ground and let's say he's strong enough to forcibly slow the roundabout down. He's one kid in the park out of 8. Is he being selfish for spoiling the fun of the 7, or just getting his fair share of something that was intended for everyone but is being hogged by brats?

I'm not saying speedruns are always bad, but they are NOT the intended way to play content. When you can't use the duty finder to play content the way it was designed to be played there's a problem. You must see that?

I think you're right. It's a touchy subject, and I get frustrated by certain opinions, but I do respect them and I hope my own comments haven't offended anyone here.

See! This is exactly the attitude of the elitist. There are NOT a lot bad players. The casual player are not bad players. So what if they don't know their rotations. Heck they are so busy trying to dodge stuff they can't keep up their rotations. It takes a lot of practice to get good at dodging the stuff and doing the rotations, and even more so to tank or heal and do all that. There is nothing wrong with the echo buff and more echo buff, players have limited time, and there is NO GOOD reason to force them to get stuck.

The less experienced player, lower-geared players, players with less time, can't know what they don't know. And it false to assume they do NOT want to improve. Granted that there will always be jerks, some of which will snap back and get defensive, when given advice that isn't always sugar coated, but to assume they do NOT want to improve or step up a tiny bit is just totally BS. The better geared and more experienced players have to make up the shortcomings of the group because they are the only ones with capacity to do so, when they refuse to do so, they become the elitists, because they feel they are their special snowflake, and want to fracture the community and punish the noobs.

And this is where you're wrong, there ARE "bad" players. I'm not conflating casual with bad either. I'm talking about the ones who refuse to improve for the good of the group and such, because they DO exist.

You've basically made yourself out to be as bad if not worse than the people you claim to be elitist. If someone is in a group and isn't as "good" as the others, and refuses to TRY. And yes, most people CAN do better than they do, it's a rarity they cannot. They just CHOOSE, whether it be conscious or subconscious, not to. It's because they see the game as something that doesn't deserve or require effort, they choose to put themselves in that position. When I was new to MMOs and in groups, and I was under performing, I looked at what I was doing, I thought about it and I forced myself to do better. I didn't say "I'm doing my best!" because I already knew that was false simply because I was holding people back. And here's the kicker, people who are willing to do that, aren't typically called bad.

It's a choice people make, and i'm sorry, expecting people to carry them, yes that's what you're saying, is wrong.

while there are bad players, majority of the time is inexperienced players. people that grinded to 50 doing fates and only fates, essentially not learning how to play their job. it happened to me a few weeks back while i was lvling smn, and the whm of the group would only use cure II and run out of mp. and he would only use cure II. even when tank was full.

Had a similar experience yesterday in Manor. The ACN(french) only used Topaz carby and I tried to tell him to use ruby with autotranslate, someone in the party was also french and told the player to change. The ACN also only used ruin and very rarely used DoTs.
But most of the time I don't really experience bad players

You can ask SE to make a new server "Titan EX", in which all players who feels surrounded only by noobs can ask to move there for free, so they will enjoy an environment as they like.

But when you moved there, you will never can go out that server.
