That's why stupid casuals like clown shoes you quoted fall into that category I referenced in this thread or the bad trend thread earlier that casuals make up the worse excuses and insults. What you mentioned in reference able, his self entitled belief wanted to spew opinions to justify his needing what everyone else has even though said people earned it through special or past events (note I started on ARR and a bit later into it and I have no problem with 1.0 items only). Casuals are starting to remind me too much like communists.

It's not just bad players in this community, but players expect so much to be given to them that the community as a whole just seems quite bad. Yes, there are quite a lot of good, and nice players out there. However, when you join a Farm Party and someone makes one simple mistakes, knows where they went wrong, and how to do it again without making a mistake but yet people rage and quit, as they expect people to make perfect every time and anything less isn't worth playing with.

But yes, there are plenty of bad players. I think it coming across as quite casual may encourage players who are not quite used to the in depth mechanics (compared to offline games) to play well.

Like out of everyone who posted here with almost 300 posts in this thread they are all such good helpful people who have never ever had a bad day or a misunderstanding and said been to someone else the *insert descriptive insult here* player.

Get off your high and mighty chairs, stop calling people rude, bad, elitist, self entitled, casual, new or whatever. :/ It's no better to point fingers and fail to see the bigger picture. For a change, go to the game and be nice to someone. After all what goes around comes around.

A big issue I see a lot of is that as soon as you offer any form of advice, they put up the defensive wall and take it as an insult. Ask them to cast a single different spell one time? They fly off the handle and cuss you out. Ask a healer to start heals just a split second sooner? They tell you to tank/dps better and not take as much damage. Those defenses are what cause issues like this to arise. I'm no saint myself, didn't even remember how to do some of the guildhest I get put into lately. Some low level explains it to me, that's something he/she deserves a commendation for, at the very least. People just need to relax and stop being so overly defensive about things, and be willing to try something new. How i learned to play SMN correctly, because I was botching it so bad, I couldn't get above healers emnity on simple fights, even with a relic on.

TL;DR version: Be a bit more open minded is all. You just might be surprised at what you can learn, from both new and old.

All of the older players I know left... and every coil group I have been in that had voice com was full of teenagers - except once (and that was a fantastic run).

Honestly, I think that the lack of diverse content and the caustic community has driven many mature players away- or to only group with people they know. The lack of accountability and overemphasis on gear score type mechanics is a big turn off for my RL friends. (All EQ players, all over 30)

I really dont see why there is all the bickering on the topic. THERE are lots of bad players. People who refuse to read their skills or take the time to understand what their rotation is because this game caters to them. You cant beat a somewhat challenging primal? heres an echo buff. Cant get gear from coil? heres another way to get gear of equal value. Still cant beat coil? Heres more echo. Dont cater to the bad players or they will keep being bad. If i see someone doing their rotation wrong I give them pointers on how they can improve. But mama always said stupid is as stupid does.

Find a strong group of friends in an FC. Build a static and stick to them like white on rice. Its how you progress and dont face palm yourself so hard that you get a black eye.

See! This is exactly the attitude of the elitist. There are NOT a lot bad players. The casual player are not bad players. So what if they don't know their rotations. Heck they are so busy trying to dodge stuff they can't keep up their rotations. It takes a lot of practice to get good at dodging the stuff and doing the rotations, and even more so to tank or heal and do all that. There is nothing wrong with the echo buff and more echo buff, players have limited time, and there is NO GOOD reason to force them to get stuck.

To equate everyone to the same muck is just pretending to be blind. It was the elitist who started this thread and got their jollies insulting everyone else and calling them bad. So what if they died so many times their gear broke. They are trying. I am only trying to point that, it is the elitist themselves who are bad, and they are bad for the game and community, because their attitude works against people working together. They falsely assume like this:

And this is where you're wrong, there ARE "bad" players. I'm not conflating casual with bad either. I'm talking about the ones who refuse to improve for the good of the group and such, because they DO exist.

You've basically made yourself out to be as bad if not worse than the people you claim to be elitist. If someone is in a group and isn't as "good" as the others, and refuses to TRY. And yes, most people CAN do better than they do, it's a rarity they cannot. They just CHOOSE, whether it be conscious or subconscious, not to. It's because they see the game as something that doesn't deserve or require effort, they choose to put themselves in that position. When I was new to MMOs and in groups, and I was under performing, I looked at what I was doing, I thought about it and I forced myself to do better. I didn't say "I'm doing my best!" because I already knew that was false simply because I was holding people back. And here's the kicker, people who are willing to do that, aren't typically called bad.

It's a choice people make, and i'm sorry, expecting people to carry them, yes that's what you're saying, is wrong.

The those elitist should stay off the duty finder and do NOT go there expecting to speed run by default. For their own benefit, they should not go there and get mad everyone else and then come here and make a stink on the forums about it.

Additionally, if they just want other players just like themselves, that set of players gets only increasing smaller, because not everyone improves at the same rate as themselves. The better they get the smaller that pool becomes, and it is not the fault of the other players. So DO NOT come here and claim that the number of bad players just to wag their e-peen.

If they want to brag, just brag straight-up, they have the right of free speech. But if you are going to insult everyone else to make yourself feel good, most casuals don't even have the time to come to forums to make a rebuttal, but do NOT expect everyone to take it lying down.
