I leveled my Arcanist to 50 as a Summoner. When I unlocked Scholar, I switched to that job & now I'm a little confused. Have I hampered my Scholar by putting all stat bonuses into Intelligence? I've only played as a Scholar for a short time, doing the job quest lines but I'm already level 50. This doesn't seem right. I have no idea what I'm doing as a scholar. Duty roulette here I come! Who's gonna be the lucky party to get me?

30 mind hit for scholar isn't that big of a deal. Learning to play the class will be your biggest factor in whether you pass a dungeon or not.

You can purchase an item from your GC called The Keeper's Hymn that will reset your stat points for 10,000 seals. Personally, I play smn main and have all of my points in int and can heal content on my sch just fine (although I have decent gear and relic on my sch to make things a bit easier). You should check the Healing forums and look up some Scholar guides that will give you some excellent macro suggestions and what spells/abilities you should be using so that you aren't fumbling around in Pharos Sirius

Thanks. I have a basic idea of what the scholar specific abilities are. I feel I've missed out on learning the nuances of the job by not leveling up as I did with Summoner.

Do you ever get to a point where your int is so much more than your mind stat, such that it makes sense to use the cleric stance for healing duty?

It's not a mistake, because that's not the point of Cleric Stance.

Cleric Stance doesn't exist so that Arcanists can cheat the bonus attribute points, it exists so that healers can have some semblance of damage so they can do solo content (like quests and story missions), because nearly ALL of their endgame gear is focused on MND.

See above. Plus, SMN's endgame gear (and a couple of their leveling gear pieces) are entirely INT based. They have no need for Cleric Stance.

Nope. Cleric stance reduces your healing potency by 20%, beside swapping INT and MND. It's meant to be a boost if you want to deal some additional damage as a healer, not to compensate builds.

It doesn't make sense to use stance just yet, mind & int are only off by a few points. I'll need to get more scholar specific gear. At the moment I'm using Strategos head, body, feet, hands & darklight & hero caster accessories. Just things lying around with a retainer.

I have been wanting to lvl up my arcanist so bad and lvl up SMN and SCH and play both whenever I want to

I gear all my jobs and I have WHM 50 it was my second lvl 50 job since 1.0 and I play all my jobs so naturally I'd like to play as a decent SMN and SCH.
But since I learned that both jobs share the same Stats and they are two different style jobs I am worried now and have lost my excitement in lvling Arcanist...
I always play and gear my jobs as best I can and not having full MND or full INT on either my SCH or SMN is scary D:.

I do hope SE will either fix this later on in the game or in the future not make the same mistake again :/.
I'd hate to play THF with STR instead of DEX which might be THF's main stat in the future but who knows lol.
