They've already hyped this patch more than anything so far but based on their info I think we can expect a couple of company related quests like in the first company quest- patch and then wait another 2 months for the next bits to trickle in.

A smart player would just put XIV on hold until patch 1.3 but I happen to be on my vacation and just can't help checking out how this thing is going to turn out.

I try too keep my expectations low but they've been working on this patch forever. If it really is just a battle system tweak (I wouldn't call automating one step a complete overhaul btw) and few dungeons I know I'll be a bit disappointed because I keep hoping for them to surprise me somehow. Given their track record of much hype for nothing I'd say a wise player would know better by know than to expect them to walk the walk.
Yeah I agree with what you're saying about putting the game on hold because SE hasn't learned that it's important to keep people held over with at least SOMETHING new to explore with.

This patch does the opposite of what is wise to keep a community of players biting: they are producing a rather insignificant bunch of updates and taking rediculously long to simply do so. Keeping this in mind and the mega multiplayer games coming out like Old Republic and Gears of War 3, it seems this game could be in danger of going out with a wimper.

Too many things are coming out in the next month or two that will completely over shadow the shadow on top of FF14 already. Becoming a bit tiresome to be a FF14 player. Going through the stages of grief.

First is sadness, next is anger, and acceptance is usually the last one. Guess which one I'm at?
