patch isn't today so calm down champ.Just because its 4th of July it doesnt meant the other 6.1 billion are doing what the americans are doing on that day.
Just because its 4th of July in your country why wouldnt SE release it? They are a japanese company with customers from all continents !
Heck if they delayed releasing stuff because of public holidays then patches would never go out - its always a public holiday in some country or other.
Yes...theres an OUTSIDE of America. *gasp*
I expect well see the patch in the next 2-3 days Probably Wednesday

SE has never released a patch in FFXI on either an American or Japanease holiday day. They have, however, released on the same week as a holiday. If you remember correctly they delayed a patch that was scheduled on Memorial day to the day after.
Just for the record, 1.18 is more than just core of the auto-Attack and battle reform and the 2 dungeons.
There will be the grand companies, the quests hubs, the beast tribes settlement, Guild Leve reforms, new quests added. And I am probably missing some stuff.
Maybe not as big as most anticipated but still more than some people make it out to be. And more to come with 1.19 and 1.20 shortly after. 1.18 they said took longer because of the core reforms they had to do but things will come out faster after.
I think a lot of us are expecting things like quests hubs and beast tribe settlements to be delayed since it's been a while since they talked about them. The only thing they confirmed recently was that there will be some Grand Companies storyline stuff.
Beast tribes stated to come out AFTER quest hubs actually. Believe it was the article for quest hubs way back that said that^^ Might of said was for 1.19 too... and ya 1.18 def will be longest wait otherwise they won't even come close to finishing everything they wanted by end of summer xD We'd be lucky to get in 1 more patch, so let's hope it's way shorter for 1.19 like it should be^^Just for the record, 1.18 is more than just core of the auto-Attack and battle reform and the 2 dungeons.

WOTG was released in 2007, the 20th of November in North America and the 22nd of November in Japan and Europe. The Patch for the expansion pack went live on Thanksgiving day in the United States. Many many many PC users didnt get the disc till Saturday of that week.

Yeah, I just checked and he said they probably had to delay it to 1.19 in the Letter from the Producer IX.
I remember that! In fact I think the shipment to my old store (EB Games) was delayed because of that (Canadian, ours is in Oct).
