Errr, back at launch all we had was our full DL sets ( CT wasn't available) and it was more than enough for t1 and t2. The progression in gear came from clearing those early turns and saving myth cap each week.

Right now the difference between a full i90 BiS set over any normal i90 set is nothing more than a bonus. The difference between either set won't halt progression or prevent entry to 2.2 content like Leviathan Ex and t6.

Don't forget our current BiS sets will most likely be quickly replaced in 2.2 as the i90 crafted sets with penta melds will easily beat any of our current sets on stats.

This argument is forgetting a few key points

- 2 new allagan tomes
- new lost city, both hm will have new tomes
- all 3 new dungeons have i55ish min ilvl reqs


Why would current BiS be important?? Its all going to be replaced. Because we are starting over with the new ak/wp farming to get into Coil2

Why will current BiS still be important when it's obsolete the second the patch hits? Did your Vanya remain BiS? Did your DL remain "BiS" when you got Allagan and Myth gear? 2.2 introduces new Allagan and tome gear, previous gear is obsolete.

Yoshi wanted this. You can't argue against the developer of the game. You're playing semantics in stating it will be important because you'll be using it until you get the new gear, which means once you get the new gear..why would you ever use 2.0-2.1 gear? Thus: Obsolete.

I'm not asking anything. Go back and read announcements. 2 new tomes meaning new philo equivalent and new myth equivalent. The 3 new dungeons will have these new tomes presumably in similar fashion to what dungeons do now. With a low ilvl required to do new dungeons why would we worry about outdated gear BiS?

Also your original post stated hm Levi and i85 weapons completely ignoring new relic and ex Levi which will more then likely be the weapons farmed. Not hm Levi.

You need to check information. Was stated around 2.1 that primal will come hm and ex together. HM Levi is a story mode battle like Moogle was. Moogle EX and Levi EX are like last 3 ex battles with stated Leviathan being weapons.
