As you said, Xayoc, this would require the ability to create 24-man premades. However, I think this could be a very interesting addition. Make each tier of "Crystal Tower HM" roughly on par with the equivalent tier of Coil, and have it reward equivalent iLVL gear. I can't think of many suggestions, but here's the ones I can think of:
Zombie Dragon: Starts each phase as invulnerable, and the only way to remove this is to have someone kill a special skeleton that will drop a "Shining Feather" and then use it on the Zombie Dragon. Obviously, the old "Undead Bosses aren't immune to Phoenix Down" trick.
Thanatos: Mostly the same, except that sometimes he'll inflict a "Healing Potency Down" debuff or something like it on a Magic Pot, and the only way to remove it is with a "Dusty Elixir", which is occasionally dropped by the regular adds.
King Behemoth: ...Damnit, can't think of anything interesting for this one, aside from making all the monsters more durable and hit harder.
King Behemoth: Deactivating the towers now gives you enmity.
I remember them saying they had to epicly nerf CT thanks to the difficulty it was at originally. So many things on the ground in CT that shows placement ideas ie the greenboxes @ first path.
I would so love to see atomos spawn bombs (it matches the room anyways) alongside current adds and if both aren't killed in time BOOM!. If bomb dies first it goes into the other add or circles it. If other add dies it makes it grow and faster countdown to self destruct.
Love the phoenix down idea and pots ~ elixir.
Behe should be given a 1/3rd of the room worth of rear AOE so comet placement plays more of a role.
Tower triggers enmity or a comet slam infront of the person triggering it. That wind thingy chardibris or whatever it's called should envelope the outer ring too making it a requirement to have dedicated tower clicker (lol this would be so~ dull for the whoever ends up doing it)
Don't mind having Hard or Ex mode for CT. we all know from the start CT will be casual 24 man content so adding more modes wouldn't hurt it, if time and development permits that is.
I think this is a good idea. It is definitely less consuming than creating a new raid from scratch. They don't even need to change the bosses or terrain like they did for hm dungeons. They can keep everything the same, just give each boss unique mechanics and the difficulty tuned to t5 at release.
I have trust issues with 8-man parties as it is. I can't imagine how much that will intensify with a 24-man coil-level raid.
just harder new floors would do...
